Good News!

Yay! Good news seems to be coming my way today!

my prerogative I was informed that COMPLETE WOMAN magazine will be featuring MY PREROGATIVE in their May Issue. They’re going to be running a decent sized excerpt, as well as giving away 10 copies of the book! Good News for me, because I’ll hopefully be able to reach a bunch of new readers, and good news for readers because it’s a chance to win a free book.

I just recieved my first review for MOST WANTED, my June Aphrodisia release. Check it out!
Lototy, from CoffeeTime Romance sums up the book like this…

The stories in this book are all unique and exciting in their own way. Each character easily holds your attention, and the plots are just as captivating. I flew through this in one sitting, and that may be my
only regret. I wanted to keep on reading! Ms. White is a fabulously talented writer, and purchasing any of her books is money well spent.

Want to know what she thinks of each story itself? Keep reading!

Most Wanted
Hidden Cravings
Lexy Signorino does not deny herself the joys of an active sex life, but she does not `do’ relationships. After losing her parents and then her first love, she has decided it is just too painful to put her
heart out there.

Family means everything to Devon Kaye, and the only reason he is knocking on Lexy’s door is to enlist her help in finding his cousin, or so he keeps telling himself.

Devon almost lost his heart to Lexy once, and he is determined not to do so again. A year ago, they could not keep their hands off of each other, and then suddenly she broke off all contact. The heat between
them burns as hot as ever, but Devon wants more. Lexy knows it is all or nothing with Devon, but is she willing to risk her heart to have this man in her life?

Lexy and Devon are arousing and arresting. They fit the bill for two of the hottest and commanding individuals, and I would love to see them break out into their own series.

As a domina, Jillian Furst takes great pride in drawing out the most exquisite experience in pain and pleasure for her subs.

One look at Jackson Barrows, and there is no doubt that he is all male through and through. After being hurt years ago, he makes sure the inner desire he has to be controlled is very well hidden.

Jillian has had an intense attraction for her neighbor since she moved in, but his emotional barriers have kept her from pursuing that attraction. Maybe just maybe she can get him to agree to one night of no-holds-barred sex with absolutely no commitments. Jack is struck speechless when he learns of Jillian’s true nature, but the powerful urge to give in to his private desire is hard to deny.

If you have never read BDSM, this story is the perfect introduction to that genre. It is all in the perspective, and these expertly written characters truly enhance the experience.

No Angel
Since birth, Anna Blair has had the cursed ability of demons. She is now a demon hunter, but recently the tides have turned, and they have started coming for her.

To say that Gabriel Mann has an eccentric family is putting it mildly. With psychics, shape shifters, and empaths as relatives, little surprises him anymore.

Anna has never really known family or friends since the death of her mother, but seeing others enjoy the ease of such things pains her heart. She may enjoy the release and satisfaction of sex on occasion, but her
entire existence revolves around hunting demons. Gabe is somehow different from the men she normally meets, and when he takes her home to his family, she realizes why.

The characters in this story are sexy, quirky, and fun. They enliven the story with their innocence and desire to help those around them, and their need to form a bond that is much more than skin deep.

Yummy

I found this on fitnessmagazine.com

Potato Chips vs. Pita Chips
Best Bet: Pita chips
When you’re dying for something salty and crunchy, potato chips are the first thing that come to mind. But a single ounce (that’s just 12 chips!) has 160 calories and 10 grams of fat. Add onion dip and your snack jumps to 212 calories and 15 grams of fat. Instead, slice a four-inch pita into wedges, brush lightly with olive oil and sprinkle judiciously with salt, then crisp in a toaster oven. Add hummus, and you’ll take in just 167 calories and 7 grams of fat while adding 3 grams of hunger-taming fiber.

Hump Day thoughts

So last night at work, I was reminded that I haven;t done a lot lately that might inspire me- eroctically speaking.

I had two guys who’d come in and had a couple of beers and some food, who then proceeded to talk about how long it’s been since they’d been drunk. One was a week, the other was a month. I laughed at them and told them it’s been almost a year for me. LOL

Then I had another table, 2 guys on a date, (Who were great fun) and we got into a conversation about sex. Varieties of it , experimentation…so on. The topic of how often, or not came up. and that reminded me that it’s been a while there too. There was some flattering “Why ? You’re hot. If I were straight I’d go for you.” and so on, and I acknowledged it’s because of my weight gain.

Now, I know that it doesn’t always matter to some men, and that’s the sort of man I want, however, it matters to me.

I don’t feel sexy, I feel fat. And I do believe that has effected my urge to write erotica. Whether it’s becasue i don’t really want to think about sex, or romance right now, or becasue sitting in front of the computer all day just makes me want to eat more, I’ve not quit figured out yet.

1991_cropped Part of me would really love for a hot guy to ask me out right now, to take the time to get to know me, and not care if I lost wight. I still want to lose weight, but I want a man who doesn’t care. Make sense? Think it’s possible?

Either way, I’m sticking to my health plan, and I do feel better. More energy, happier. And completely okay with being single and working toward my own health and happiness. I turn 40 in 8 months, and I want to be in top shape by then. I’m keeping this photo of my Dad and I (when I was 20) handy to inspire me. This is when I was kickboxing 5 days a week, and probably when I was in the best shape of my life. I doubt I’ll ever be in that good of shape again, but I’m determined to be close. I’m going to be in top shape by my 40th birthday so I can be fabulous and 40!!

PS: No laughing at my 80’s pants and belt. It was in style then!

Need an Education?

You defintiely need this one!
Talented author and my close friend, Beth Williamson has her first Brava hitting stores tomorrow!

Check it out !

The Right Man Comes Along

Madeline Brewster practically owns Plum City, Colorado. But at thirty-two, she knows she has missed any chance for happiness. Until she finds a tall, strong, handsome Irishman on the wrong end of the hangman’s noose. Suddenly this unconventional woman comes up with an outrageous idea . . .

Teague O’Neal has rugged cheekbones, tousled black curls, and eyes as blue as the sky, even if he is caked in Colorado mud. The men insist they caught him horse-thieving, and there’s something desperate about him that says he’d do anything for a buck.

Maybe it was pure chance, or maybe it was something more that brought Madeline and Teague together. But one thing’s clear, between a woman who has just about everything she could ever want, and a man who’s lost that and more, they might find something in between worth living for.

PS: Beth and I will be doing a workshop at the RT conference in Orlando on the Yin and Yang of Critique partners. How someone who write in a different genre can be the right cp for you.

Perception

It’s Saturday again, which for me means a day shift at work. I like working the one day shift a week, it guarantees I get my butt out of bed at a halfway normal time in the morning. One thing about working nights is that each night I tend to stay up later and later, and then sleep in later and later. But it’s not really sleeping in if I still only get 6 or 7 hours sleep, is it?

It’s just the perception of sleeping in.

Same as when I go out of town for a conference, or take a couple of weeks off work to meet a deadline. When I go back I get asked “How were your holidays?” or “Did you enjoy your vacation?” But to me, it wasn;t a vacation or a holiday, because I was still working. Writing to meet a deadline is work. So is going to conference. As much fun as I have at them, they are still work. I go to teach workshops, promote, and network, and yes, I get to do it allwhile having dinner or drinks and even some dancing. It’s fun, but it’s still work.

Strangely, I often think of my time at the pub as my down time. WHere my mind is occupied by things other than my stories, or career choices. Today at work I’m going to do my best to NOT think about writing, because I’ve been thinking about this story I want to write too much, and I think I’ve created a bit of log jam in my mind. I think this is where plotting would come in handy. Actually writing down some of these thoughts, but as soon as I reach for a pen or sit in front of the computer, they disappear.

So today is a deliberate effort to not think about it,and hopefully when I come home form work, and sit in front of the computer, I’ll be able to get even more work done on the story.

WHo ever said there was more to life than work?

I’m over at GENREALITY today, talking about knowing yourself, as an author.

Life is moving along smoothly. I had breakfast with a couple of friends yesterday, adn one of them braught along her three year old. I had my camera so I’ll post pictures on the photo blog tomorrow. Let me warn you, she’s cute.

I have to work tonight, and there’s another Oilers hockey game so I’m hoping that means it will be busy again. I like it when it’s busy, the night passes fast, and I get to make a little more cash. Also, it never fails that when I’m busy with work , my story ideas grow faster. I’m sure it’s because I’m not actually near a computer and can’t write things down, but it seems to release something in my brain. Not sure if it’s because I have so many people around as inspiration, or just because thoughts tend to flow better when busy…but it works.

Gypsy Style Blog Header

I’ve built myself a photoblog. It’s nothing special or massive, just a Blogger one that I set up to show off some of my photography- a way to keep myself in it, and to maybe find some like minded people and get some feedback.

If you want to check it out, it’s called GYPSY STYLE, and has a few things up already. I’m going to try to post a new photo at least three times a week. Some are older photos I’m just now scanning in (From the days when everything was film) and some will be new ones. Everyday things and people, as well as from specific photo shoots.

Right now, there are a couple of slideshows on the sidebar there, PEOPLE and PLACES, and these are made up of some of my favorite photos. I’ll continue to add to them, as well as add new slideshows. It’s a good way to see plenty of photos that aren’t posted individually.

The Cover.

Because I’ve been learning to play with Photoshop, and I made the cover for ABDUCTION, and Vanessa asked if it was done in photos hop, I thought I’d share.

This is the Stock image that I used as a background. I love this photo too, I’ve been wanting to use it for a while.

And this is the stock image I purchased to use as Tyla. The woman on the cover.

It was cut and paste, and mask, and erase, blur a little here there, put them togehter, add some texture, and Text. and the cover came about.

I can’t tell you step by step how I did it, cuz I don’t really know. I’m not that good at this tuff, I just sort of start, and play, and see what happens. But, It wasn’t hard really, just time consuming, and an exercise in developing patience. I don’t have the full Photoshop, only photoshop Elements, but That course from Creative Direction I took a couple weekends ago really helped me learn how to use what I do have.

ABDUCTION – Free Read

When Max Cooper, a “damaged” ex-Coast Guard officer, wakes up naked in a strange bed with no memory of how he got there, “alien abduction” is not what pops into his head.

It’s Captain Tyla Natori’s job to bring males from other worlds back to her own female-dominated planet to be put “on the market.” When she finds a perfect male speciman in the form of Max Cooper, however, she decides he’s the one for her…and he has no choice in the matter…

Or does he?

Previous reviews for ABDUCTION:

“ABDUCTION by Sasha White is a quick sumptuous read that will have you squirming and wanting to abduct a love slave of your very own. Ms. White developed her characters quickly and solidly in an other worldly setting that you will want to visit again.” – eCataromance Reviews

“Hot, fast-paced and erotic, the tension between Tyla and Max is sizzling. This sci-fi Erotica quickie delivers!” – Romance Divas

OKay, it’s now available.

ABDUCTION is a short story I wrote five years ago. It was available from Amber Quill press for a couple of years, but has basically sat on my computer for the last 2 years doing absolutely nothing. Since I only have one novel scheduled for release this year, I thought I should offer up something to hold y’all over.

I pulled it out, polished it up a bit, and created a cover.

Those who have read the version that AQP published will notice a few changes, nothing huge, but I did tweak it a bit to help set up some more stories. Yes, there is a sequel (Written 4.5 years ago) that I’m polishing up for you as well…and there might even be more after that.

For now you can read or download the PDF from my Scribd Page. I hope you enjoy it!

I’d hoped to have my free read up today, but, well, it’s 5 A.M and I’m tired, so I’m going to bed.

If I can’t get it up this afternoon, it will be up for sure tomorrow, as a Valentines Day present from me to all of you. It’s pretty much ready, it’s a story I wrote 5 years ago, but I’m trying to clean it up a bit and I just want to give it one last run through.
