Wild, Wicked and Wanton

Wild, Wicked and Wanton

Jaci Burtons Book is now available. And I read it!!

Okay, be prepared…I’m going to do a review… and PLEASE read the whole review!

I was super excited to have Wild, Wicked and Wanton in my hand, and it just about killed me when I started the book and couldn’t stop myself from cringing. I wasn’t rolling my eyes over the writing. Jaci is an awesome writer, so don’t think that. What got me was this… three best friends, a blonde a brunette, a redhead, and a dare to get them into their sexual games. I felt like I’d seen this story before – more than once.

Another thing that sort of had me not thrilled was the heroine in the the first novella – and her insecure “I’ve never done this sort of thing before” attitude. I’m bored with that sort of thing in erotic stories. Honestly, I wasn’t even sure I could continue reading. BUT, I did, and I am very glad I did.

Jaci has amazing talent. You know this is true when she can take a reader like me who is cringing at the start, and have me completely hooked half way through . Was it hot? Hell yeah! Were the stories predicatable? Yeah, I think they were. But Jaci still managed to draw me in and make me care about the characters. I kept reading until I was finished each story, and I’m glad for it. That’s talent.

I admit it. I have a problem with cliches..or what I think of as cliches..but she really nailed it. By the end of the first novella I was shaking my head and laughing at myself. It just goes to show a good writer can make any story work. Well done, Jaci.

Readers, WWW is definitely worth reading, so be sure to check it out yourself!

  1. :duell: I soooo loved Jaci’s book. Especially the 1st story. I think she is a fantastic writer. Besides, I read WWW for the “erotica” not the stories or plot—I can’t wait for her next Demon Hunter book.

  2. LOL I enjoyed it too. But I’ve alos been reading erotica fro almost 15 years, and writing it fro about 5, so I’ve read alot of it. Which means I sometimes see stories that it think of as predicatble, or cliche. But as I said, Jaci still hooked me…and I enjoyed the book…and that says a lot about how talented she is.

  3. i waited forever for this to hit the bookstores and loved the stories. I was completely absorbed by the characters and loved the very hot sex. Yup – Jaci writes a damn fine story. And I’m not saying that just because i’m a total Jaci ‘ho. grin!

ps – i’m ready for your next one to come out Sash – how much damn longer do i have to wait?

  4. oh yeah – i grabbed Lush as soon as it hit the shelves. What – you missed me doing the snoopy dance in borders? I thought they were using that in their pr campaigns. grin! August? That’s sooooo far away.
