“I think for it to be real, (romance writers) absolutely have to love men to begin with. I do – I think they’re wonderful creatures. I think every thinking woman should own one.”
Linda Howard

I LOVE IT! 😛

Last night I went to bed around 3 a.m. I was trying to get to bed early so I can start a normal pattern. You know, maybe get my butt out of bed before noon every now and then. 😉 You see, I finally did it. I gave up another shift at work so I can concentrate on writing. I now only work 3 nights a week, so I HAVE to write more so I won’t have to go back to working full time when my savings runs out! What can I say? I think I’m weird in the way that I write better under pressure.

To prove that theory, after emailing my ‘male friend’ for lack of a better term, to see if he wanted to come over for lunch, I went to bed. My thought was Yeah! Got to bed early, be up in time to be ready for lunch. But of course, as I’m laying in the dark, thoughts of the WIP creep into my mind. THEN thoughts of the NEXT project creep into my mind. SO I get up a quickly write a page of dialogue to flesh out later. Then I crawl back into bed. More thoughts. This time I grab a pen and notepad near my bed and jot them down, then I roll over and fall asleep, around 4:30, forgetting all about the lunch invitation.

SO I wake up around noon, come in and check my email, and sure enough he’d accepted my invitation, and had said he would be by at 11:45…but because I hadn’t replied he never showed! 🙁 I probably won’t see him until next week now. Maybe one of these days I should remember to keep my phone ON, so that people can call me instead of depending on email to get a hold of me. Maybe now that I’ll be home 4 days a week I’ll do that. Maybe.

On another note…A while ago Cece pointed this interview out to me and I loved it. I loved the idea of her ‘channeling a cheerleader’ that I ordered the book from Chapters yesterday. Along with three other books. The new Sherrilyn Kenyon book Seize The Night, Velvet Glove by Emma Holly, and Master of the Night by Angela Knight.

I am so excited!!! My WORD goal this month was to finish THE DEVIL INSIDE (scroll down to Sneak Peeks) and start my next project, but I think I can finish TDI before the books come, then I’m going to reward myself with being able to read one of them before I start the next project!!

Yay!! 😀
Ok. Time to gear up…sit down…and write!

  1. I think you’ve got to stick to whatever writing rhythms work for you – even if that means staying up and night and sleeping through the morning. As long as you’re doing the writing, right 😉

And I’m proud of you for taking this step – I see more and more wonderful things happening for you this year 😀
