Life

It’s Friday!! I have Big plans for the weekend. I have a dishfull of dishes that need to be washed, I have a closet full of dirty laundry that needs to be done. I have a new crock pot that needs to be tested. I have a few WIP’s that need to be finished. I have a books to read and movies to watch. Oh! And I have a christmas party to go to on Monday night, hopefully I’ll find something in the laundry to wear. :doze:

Despite all this work that needs to be done…I’m in a great mood. Not sure why. πŸ™‚ Must be because I think I might actually get most of this stuff done! Well, ok, maybe I won’t finish a few of my wip’s…but I am definitly finishing one. And I need to finally get some pages started so I can send them to Angela Knight for the critique I purchased back in, uhmmm Oct?

Ysterday I entered a short story in the Amber Heat Wave Contest. I’m not sure this particular story will ever sell, or do good in a contest. The theme of the story is a bit dark; a woman learning to live/feel again after her husbands death. Strange theme for an erotic story I know, but I wrote it as an experiment. . . a way to stretch my wings as a writer. And according to my cp’s it’s one of the best pieces I’ve ever written. But just coz it’s good doesn’t mean it’ll win. :doze:

But that’s ok, it’s a free contest, so what can it hurt? And if I do win, and get a contract with them, then I have somewhere tos sell those other, very carnal, very short, stories I mentioned before. I noticed that AQ also does paperback copies, and that they did one with a collection of Marianne LaCroix’s stories. So you just never know what the future holds.

This afternoon, I am not going to try to write…I’m going to delve into a ms I’ve been trying to get to for a while now. Vanessa Jaye gave me a sneek peek at her novel FELICITY STRIPPED BARE a while ago, and now I get to read the whole thing.

I can’t wait any longer. :hehe:

Waah. I can’t believe I sent you and Cece the link to the AQ contest, then didn’t enter myself. See this big neon "L" on my forehead? gg. I bet CeCe sent something in too. Hey, maybe I can send in Irondik! That man is growing on me, I really should do something about his story. gg

I hope you enjoy Felicity and Daniel’s story. And thanks for offering to read the ms.

But ugh on everything else you have planned for this week-end. I’m going to veg. Ds is at his friend’s cottage till Sunday night, so I really get to be lazy. And after the week at work I’ve had, I deserve it. Have fun at the party!

Er, good luck, lol. I’m so used to thinking of you as ‘published’ it sometimes doesn’t registered that you certain goals in that arena you want to accomplish.

But you know I’ve always had my fingers crossed for all your endeavors. 😎

Yes Jaq, I know you always have your fingers crossed for me. LOL. And really, you should give Irondik another look. You have until the 15th to enter the HeatWave contest. πŸ˜‰

Cece~ Have fun at the meeting, relax, and find a sun booth too! πŸ˜‰

Dianna~ Actually, i was going to try and make some bar-b- que pork. One of the girls at work told me to use a prk roast, or shoulder and put Katchup and brown sugar(turns to bar-b-ques sauce) on it…and let it slow cook, and the meat just falls off the bone! Great for sandwiches and such!

Plus, Chili! I love to make my own chili!

  6. You know, like Jaq, I think of you as published, so it always throws me when you mention entering contests with unpublished work and stuff! πŸ™‚

Good luck, and have a nice weekend doing laundry and dishes!

  7. :)Good luck in the contest…went and read the rules, the piece you sent sounds interesting. Diana (with one N) that apricot lamb sounds delicious…but what are winter veggies in Florida? I have a Crock Pot somewhere, never think to use it, I use my toaster oven alot.

  8. Sasha

Yes Sylvia, you can say I told you so.

Thanks Jaq, and Larissa, it’s a small thing, but it’s nice to know that even though RWA, or some people, don’t’ recognise short stories and such as Pubbed, that you guys do.

I even admit that at times, I DON’T think of myself as pubbed, because I do have alot of goals I still want to accomplish.

Why don’t you just buy bbq sauce? LOL

I’ve done pork chops like that…and chicken for chicken and rice. they’re great for beans too. I don’t use my crock pot near as often as I should. I’m so NOt a morning person.
