Sometimes…

Sometimes…

I shock myself. I always say it takes alot to shock me. But last night, in a valiant procrastination effort, aided by Sylvia, I started to go through some of my old short stories. These are ones that I wrote a couple years ago, when I was just starting to dabble in erotica. These “stories” are rarely longer than 1,500 words, and are mostly only one scene. A sex scene of course. What shocks me is how different they are to what I’m writing now. I mean, I know I spent the last year and a half trying to write more ‘romantic’ stories, but WOW, those old stories are purely carnal.

I think I’m going to enjoy editing them at a later date, layering in some emotion (Yes Steph, I too need to learn to layer), and hopefully compliling them into a collection worthy of being published.

Would anyone be interested in a single author collection of erotic short stories? Or do y’all prefer multi-author anthologies?

I’ll wear the t-shirt proudly, Steph. And hope no-one notices that my ass is still there. πŸ˜‰

Shayne~ Happy New Year!!! Haven’t seen you around in a while, but I’m happy to hear you’d like a collection. Did you ennjoy Down & Dirty 2??

Sianna~ It’s so easy to get lost surfing peoples websites. LOL I defintily want to have a collection inthe future. I think it might have to be an ePublisher though. All I ever hear is how publishers aren’t intersted in single author anthologies. I even pitched the idea to my editor at BL but she said they won’t do any single author ones. But she’d like to see a novel by me. Who knwos what the future holds?/ πŸ˜‰

  2. Honestly? I prefer authors with single titles. πŸ˜€ I don’t regularly read anthologies. I do make exceptions, though, for authors I’m ga-ga about. Given a choice, I’d go for single author anthologies.
OK, I’m dying to know – have you heard anything from Downtown people?

Hey, Sasha, ZANE made a name for herself putting out erotic anthologies with just her stories in them. She still puts them out, along with her single title length erotica, plus running the publishing company she was able to open after achieving fame and fortune. 😎

    I say, go for it!

 Sasha you could always publish them as original Sasha White’s…
hey Shane, you would also think that a collection by different authors was AWESOME.
I was gonna comment earlier but clicked on Diana’s link and got lost in her webpages.

  5. I’m honestly not big on anthologies, either–I like the depth of novellas that can’t be attained with novellas and short stories. However, when I DO read anthologies, I prefer single-author ones because at least then I’ll have consistency of quality! πŸ™‚
