Renovations.

Renovations.

The place I work is both a restaurant and bar. We share a kitchen, and I work both sides. Three lunch shifts a week I waitress in the restaurant, and on Friday and Sat nights I bartend in the bar. Most people prefer to work one side or the other, but I like the mix, because it keeps things from becoming too consistent. As in, sometimes I get tired of dealing with the same regulars all the time. LOL PLus, working both gives me a mix of working both days and nights.

Anyway, the past week and a half the restaurant has been closed for renovations, and I’ve worked in the bar during the day. Its a bit hectic because things are all messed up as far as where things go, and how we get food from the kitchen, and people NOT reading the sign that says Over 18 Only and thinking just because the restaurant in closed they can bring their kids in the bar. I’ve learned I’m one of the few who LIKE it when things get shaken up. I love change and it doesn’t bother me too much when I have to search for things or do things differently. Anyway, one of the best things about the reno’s is the men.

Yep. Construction men. Everywhere. :mrdevil:

Not all are hot and sexy. Not even half are. But there are many polite ones, and some slightly flirtatious, and a couple very flirtatious. I love flirting. I think I’ve mentioned this before. Anyway, I thought I’d tell you about it just because it’s really all thats going on right now.

Next week the restaurant is open again and the bar is closed while they renovate it. I’m taking that week off to write write write. I want to finish MOST WANTED and see if I can get it in to my editor early.

Plus, Next week, starting Monday, I’ll be doing my VOICE workshop here on the blog.

So right now I’m cleaning office and getting house set up to do nothing but write and talk about writing next week. In cleaning my office, I’ve decided I have way too many books.
So I have some to give away.

Yes, I do.

So, post a comment on here to be entered to win CHASING SILVER by Jamie Craig or NOTHING TO FEAR by Karen Rose. (The cover of my copy of NTF is different than what Amazon has up, but it’s the same book) Both are books I thoroughly enjoyed, and would keep if I had room…but alas, I also just spent $70 at Amazon, so I need to make room for the new.

ADDED: DELILAH DEVLIN!! You’re name was drawn as the winner for these 2 books. Email Me to collect them!

  1. Naughty! I’mnot too choosy about who I ogle or flirt with either–good-looking or just rascal-ly. Love men who love women and know how to flirt.

Good luck getting the book turned in early. If you need anything–holler!

:blabla: I keep telling myself the same thing but my books seem to stay where there at. If I stopped buying books for a couple of months I could have the other 3 bookcases for downstairs and have a little left over for new purchases, but telling myself that hasn’t worked out yet either. I can’t pass up books, I probably buy between 25 to 35 a month and at that I still go to the library….and add to my collections of authors that I have in hardcover…. :fortune: I see no bookcases but lot’s more books!

I smiled while reading this post. Years ago I worked in England at a Pub (part of the time pulling pints and part of the time serving food). I enjoyed myself thoroughly but being from the US was rather confounded to not have a running tape on a cash register. People ordered rounds of drinks for fairly large groups at a time. We were expected to get the drinks ordered while tallying the bill mentally. Other people working the bar were aware of my lack of practice in this so would shout random numbers at me as they passed. Thankfully, I was good at math and not easily distracted. 🙂
