Want a free book?

I took this photo of a sunset 2 days before I left on my vacation. It’s a beautiful winter sunset. So crisp and clear…but I’m laying on a beach in Haiti right now. I don’t want you to think I’ve forgotten about my readers! Wave hi in the comments and be entered to win a copy of ALLURING TALES, Hot Holiday Nights. I have three copies to give away, so your chances of winning are great!

I’ll do the draw when I get home and post the winners names on December 24th.

ALLURING TALES 2: HOT HOLIDAY NIGHTS

The holidays are heating up—with seven wickedly sensual stories guaranteed to spice up those chilly winter nights!

Wish Upon A Star“Wish Upon A Star” by Sasha White — A professional dominatrix wishes upon a star, and her fantasy appears—an insatiable alpha male in biker boots who’s literally out of this world…

A psychology student goes online hoping to live out her steamiest fantasy—and ends up on a hot mystery date with a wickedly imaginative stud who brings out her inner pole-dancer. . .

A determined lady comes home, burning for her girlhood crush—a sexy lawman who totes a big gun. . .

A creative ad man’s passion is aroused when he sees his buttoned-up coworker in a revealing new light—dressed in sizzling red satin on a giant billboard. . .

A tall, dark, handsome warlock finds himself obsessed with his “familiar”—a sleek and sexy cat-woman who turns out to be the purr-fect lover. . .

A pair of fugitive lovers finds themselves warm and toasty in a sultry Caribbean paradise—and ready for some red-hot fun in the sun. . .

“Sasha White is one of my favorite authors of BDSM romances. In WISH UPON A STAR, we witness a professional Dominatrix at work, along with her soul mate as he plays voyeur to one of her sessions. Nealon isn’t sure what his mission on earth is at first, but once he sees Sarah with her submissive client, he recognizes his soul mate immediately. The beauty of this is that Nealon isn’t himself a submissive – he simply desires a woman who can match his own strength, meeting him as an equal both in and out of the bedroom – something Sarah is more than capable of. “ ~ Jennifer at Wild on Books

Excerpt from WISH UPON A STAR

Where have all the good men gone? Seriously.

Women often say it as a joke, but it’s a very valid question, Sarah Williams thought as she glanced around Diamonds, the exclusive club where she was to meet her next client.

“Your drink, Miss. Sarah.”

“Thank you, Lisa,” she said as she took the glass of wine from the topless waitress. “Is Mr. Redmond
here yet?”

“Not yet, ma’am.”

Sarah watched as Lisa sauntered away, breasts jiggling, ass wrapped in the red velvet and fur of half a Santa’s helper costume. She was an attractive girl, and Sarah briefly entertained the thought of what it would be like to play her. Except, despite the holidays, Sarah wasn’t at Diamonds for personal pleasure, she was there to work.

It was a nice club, but standing on the upstairs balcony looking over the railing she realized she was tired of the whole scene. It was always the same; full of people who were so completely wrapped up in their own fantasies that they couldn’t see the reality right in front of them.

Then again, that was how she made her very lucrative living. Somehow, she’d managed to go from being a woman who enjoyed dominating others to a woman who got paid to do it.

At first getting paid to do something she loved was a thrill, but then it became work. It became work because being the best at something drew people willing to pay for the best. Now, she had an extensive list of clients of who paid whatever she asked for her to spank their bottom – because it was a fad.

She cringed. When had BDSM become a fad?

Shit, when had she stopped looking for a good man, a good submissive, in order to cater to the many? Men who wanted her were everywhere, but where were the good men?

Sarah spun on her heel and headed for the rooftop patio. While she couldn’t pinpoint the exact date when her train had gone off the tracks, she knew why it had. She’d drifted from the close-knit community where she’d trained as a Domme because they’d let her. No one had called her to see why she’d stopped attending the play parties, or why she didn’t show up at any of the events. No one had missed her.

The cold air hit her skin as she stepped onto the roof and she shivered. She’d drifted because she had no anchor.

Tugging her little leather jacket closed Sarah walked to the edge of the building, leaned over the metal railing, and looked down at the ground three stories below her. People hustled along the sidewalk two by two, or four by four. Cars drove past, full of people out to have a good time. It was two days until Christmas and the people of San Francisco were rushing about, getting ready for family and celebration.

Heart heavy, Sarah tore her gaze away from the beautiful happy people below and looked up at the star-studded sky. It wasn’t often she could see even one star up in that sky. One of the pitfalls to living in the middle of a large city; the lights of all the high rises and skyscrapers often obliterated the night sky. But not that night. For whatever reason, the sky was blacker, and the stars brighter than normal.

She stood there for a moment, wineglass in hand, and wondered if she’d always be alone.

A yellow streak blazed its way across the sky and the childhood chant leapt from Sarah’s lips automatically. “Star light, Star Bright, I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight…” her pause was less than a second, “and tonight I wish to find one good man to be my other half. I wish to find my soul mate.”

The falling star disappeared and Sarah bit her lip. It was silly to hope, especially when she knew that in – she glanced at the watch on her wrist – fifteen minutes she’d be entering one of Diamonds private rooms and going to work. It seemed like all she had these days was work.

Just as she turned to walk back into the club, a blinding flash went off. When the spots cleared from her eyes and she could see again, a giant had appeared directly in front of her.

And he didn’t look happy as he glanced down at his clothes, then around the rooftop.

Sarah gave her head a shake and took a step back. “Where the hell did you come from?”

“Earth?” He ignored her and shouted at the sky. “Gods be damned, not now! Couldn’t you have sent someone else?”

She peeked around him at the door to the roof. It was a good twenty feet away, and still closed. She took another look at the guy in front of her and knew he hadn’t come form inside the club. Denim jeans, biker boots and tight white t-shirts were not the standard mode of dress for Diamonds clientele.

Unease stiffened her spine. “Excuse me,” she said as she started to step around him.

That got his attention. His gaze snapped to hers and her heart stuttered. Lord, he was fierce.

Pure emerald green eyes gazed at her from beneath thick dark brows, one of which was dissected by a scar that ran to his hairline. Taut skin covered sharp features softened only by full sensual lips.

Excitement rippled through her. “Yum.”

“Here we go,” he muttered and held out his arms, as if for her inspection.

Blood heated and began to pound through her veins, everything else forgotten except the man in front of her. Tearing her gaze away from his mouth, Sarah took a better look at the rest of him.
He wasn’t exactly good looking, but there was something about him – an energy that was undeniable, and totally hot. Maybe it was the dangerous thing he had going on? Big, tough and rough were certainly words that fit. At least six and a half feet tall, and thick with muscle, he looked like a warrior from Sparta. Broad shoulders, contoured chest, flat stomach, trim hips, and long strong legs. He would be a wet dream in nothing but a crimson cape and a loincloth.

Ohh, and the passion that shone in those eyes. He would be a wicked ride, for sure.

“Do I meet with your approval?” he rumbled.

The sarcasm in his tone woke her up. It wasn’t passion in his eyes. It was anger.

Giving her head a shake Sarah straightened her spine and met his forceful gaze. “It takes more than a good body to earn my approval.”

“Whatever.” His muscled shoulders rolled, as if he were shaking off his own thoughts, and she wondered why he wasn’t shivering in the December air without a jacket on. “Let’s get this over with already. What can I do for you?”

“Excuse me?”

Large hands lifted, gesturing at her. “You called, and I came. I see no immediate danger, but your call got through for some reason, so you’ll have to tell me … What can I do for you?”

She pursed her lips and tried not to think about what she’d like to do with him.

Jesus, Sarah. Get a grip! Part of her realized she should be scared, a big bad biker dude just appeared out of thin air in front of her, but she wasn’t. Scared that is. A bit worried about her own sanity, yes. But not scared.

Winner

Lindsey Ekland was the random winner of a copy of ALLURING TALES 2: HOT HOLIDAY NIGHTS

Lindsey, please use the CONTACT button above and email me your snail mail address by Monday to claim your prize!

SLIM CAMP UPDATE:

As part of my personal plan I’m starting with a 10 Day intensive. This is a plan I found as part of a workout program. It includes a strict diet for 10 Days, as well as excerising every day…some cardio, some strength training.

This sort of thing is not right for everyone, as it is strict. But for me, I know it’s right. Not only will it help shock my system into paying attention, it’ll help me mentally shift gears so that I can stay on track. It’s sort of a “go hard or go home” mentality.

Anyway, I’ll outline the steps of what I’m doing tomorrow…and hopefully some of you might want to join me. I’m starting tomorrow, but I know most people like to start new things on Mondays. My reason for starting on Sat is because I’m really motivated right now, and I need to go grocery shopping tonight anyway. So This way I can buy what I need to stick to my meal plan (Which I created last night), and get started while I’m very excited about it.

It took me two days to get my plan together, so if you’re interested, you can start on Monday and I’ll be there to cheer you on!

If you do decide to follow me, I’ll give you a hint as to my plan. The worst thing for me is going to be 10 Days with NO SODA!

I’ll put up a post about what I’ll be doing and why… and would love to see if some of you want to join me.

And as a bonus, I’m going to give away a copy of Alluring Tales: Hot Holiday Nights!

Yes, my author copies have arrived this morning, and I want to share!

My Story in AT2: Hot Holiday Nights is called WISH UPON A STAR, and here’s a peek at the first scene….

Where have all the good men gone? Seriously.

Readers Speak

Readers are talking again… check out Darla’s blog for her review of ALLURING TALES: Awaken The Fantasy. She reviews each short story seperately in here review..and here’s what she has to say abotu my story TEMPTING GRACE

alluring tales final cover“Tempting Grace” by Sasha White.

“Minister’s son Lukas Martin has been asking Grace Walters out, but she keeps turning him down. Grace is an ex-stripper who wasn’t unlike the troubled teens she works with now. And she’s older than he is. If she didn’t think so highly of Lukas, she’d probably accept his invitations, but as it is, she doesn’t think she’s good enough for him.

Then Grace suddenly gives in, on the condition that it’s for one night only–she doesn’t explain why, but the reader knows it’s because she lost one of her kids.

Sasha White was why I bought this anthology, and I wasn’t disappointed. The story between Lukas and Grace is rich with emotion and sensuality.

It’s mostly Grace’s story, as she has the emotional journey of learning that she’s more than her past and becoming able to accept love. But Lukas isn’t given short shrift, either. He’s come to know and love Grace through working with her, and his doubts and frustrations at her repeated refusals are so vivid they brought tears to my eyes.

While reading this, I realized that most times when I’ve read this sort of plot–a heroine who thinks she’s not good enough for the hero–the hero knows she thinks this and basically ends up behaving like a cross between a psychologist and a teacher, doing and saying things for her own good, teaching her to trust herself. Lukas didn’t do that. Lukas was more real than that. He reacted the way a real-life hero would, with frustration and persistence. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that. It puts the hero and heroine back on an equal footing, even though the heroine has some issues she needs to work through.”

DARLA: as part of the READERS SPEAK program I have going, you just have to email me within a week of this posting to collect your prize – which is your choice of my available backlist. Just use the CONTACT link up top, and give me your top three choices.

Caine has his work cut out for him, especially with his unruly team who don’t appreciate any help from a human. Not only is this the toughest case of his career, but he’s unusually attracted to the new girl, which can only cause trouble for them all. However, as they sink deeper and deeper into the workings of the case, Caine and Eve become closer and closer. So close that neither of them can see past each other and at the real happenings behind the scenes. The more they poke and prod at the case, the more they realize that something is going on, that this murder is only one step toward a greater purpose. Someone in the Otherworld community is calling on dark forces, in a plot to wipe out the entire human population.

CHAPTER ONE

Where was all the blood?
That was the first thought that raced through Caine Valorian’s mind the second he entered room 210 of the Black Heart Hotel in downtown Necropolis.
The young woman on the bed had her throat slit from ear to ear. Besides the blood splatter on the graying wall behind the bed, there wasn’t another drop on the green shag rug or the mustard colored comforter. Not on first inspection anyway. Maybe with the ALS, alternate light source, he would find traces of it here and there. But for some reason that bore at his mind like a thumbtack, he doubted it.
Immediately, Caine could tell that this case was going to be different. After attending hundreds of cases over the past ten years, he knew when something was amiss, something odd and out of place. For a murder in the undead city of Necropolis, that was definitely saying something.
Popping a breath mint into his mouth, he approached the bed and nodded to Dr. Givon Silvanus the medical examiner for the Otherworld Crime Unit, OCU, as he wrote notes in his logbook.
“Lividity is fixed, rigor in her jaw, neck, and shoulders. I’d say she’s been dead between six to eight hours,” Givon stated in his matter-of-fact way without looking up from his notebook. “She’s all yours.”
Caine glanced back at his team anxiously pacing behind him, waiting for the go ahead to examine the body and collect the evidence. Jace Jericho had already taken multiple pictures of the hotel room from every angle, and now he was eager to inspect the body, as there was indication of possible bite marks, his specialty. Someone didn’t live their entire life with lycanthropy and not know about the damage a set of teeth could do. Lyra Magice had just finished inspecting the magical symbols etched on the doorframe to the room. Her first inspection ascertained that there were no harmful wards on the door, so the team had been allowed in. She also found bloodstains about knee-high on the doorframe and swabbed it for later analysis.
She was chomping at the bit to get to the body. They were told there were more symbols written in a red substance, most likely blood, on the young woman’s chest. Having a full-blooded witch on staff had its advantages, especially in cases like these. Caine was eager to see what his youngest team member could do.
Having been together for the last six years, a brief nod from Caine was the only indication Jace and Lyra needed to move toward the body and begin their evidence collection. “Lyra make sure you look for trace evidence first before you inspect the symbols. I’d hate for us to miss something important.”
She nodded, and took out a magnifying glass from her stainless steel crime collecting kit. Before Caine could join them at the body, Captain Mahina Garner of the NPD, one of Necropolis’ finest, strode into the room with the swagger of someone very comfortable in her 5′10, 160-pound muscular frame, made even more powerful by her shape-shifting abilities.
“The hotel attendant is an idiot,” she remarked as she sidled up next to Caine. “He’s a dumb ass blood-sucker that doesn’t know the difference between his ass and a hole in the ground.” She smiled at him then, straight white teeth gleaming. “No offense.”
Caine smiled back, accustomed to Mahina’s gruff manner and her prejudice against vampires. “No offense taken. I know my ass from a hole in the ground.”
She laughed and patted him roughly on the back. “I know. That’s why you’re the only one of them that I like.”
“Any witnesses?”
“Nope. No one heard anything. No one saw anything.”
“Not surprising in this neighborhood. The Digs is not the most pleasant of places to be living and working.”
She nodded. “I know, but for once it would be nice to be able to start with something.”
“Any ID on the body?”
“No.” She opened her notebook. “The attendant phoned 911 after he realized he had no more rooms to rent for the hour, and noticed the do not disturb sign on 210. So, he used his master key and opened the door to find, quote ‘the bitch lying on the bed dead,’ unquote.”
“Did he notice her when she went into the room?”
“No. He said he went on a blood break at around 10 p.m., and didn’t notice the room’s do not disturb ’till around five a.m., opened the door, saw the body, and that is when he called 911.” She closed the notebook. “So far his story checks out.”
Caine glanced at his watch. It was 6 a.m. According to Givon’s estimation, the girl had died around midnight. Therefore, if the girl and her assailant had come to the room during the time the clerk was on a break, they would have had to been busy for two hours before she died. What would you need two hours for? Sex? Likely, as the girl’s shirt and bra were torn apart and her skirt was hiked up to her thighs. He didn’t need to possess extreme sensory skills to smell the scent of sex as it still lingered over the bed.
Caine looked back at his crew working the scene. “What’s the word Lyra?”
“I pulled some burgundy fibers from her shirt, a tiny piece, of what looks like copper wire, and a black hair from under one of her nails.”
“Good work. How about the markings?”
She glanced up from inspecting the woman’s bare chest and the obscure symbols drawn there and met his gaze. A look of worry crossed her petite features. “Not sure yet, Chief. I don’t recognize any of these symbols offhand. I’ll need to get pictures and reference them to my textbooks.” She held up a Q-tip, its tip tinged in pink indicating blood evidence. “It was definitely drawn in blood though. The vic’s I bet.”
“Can you ascertain a magical signature from it?”
She scrunched up her face and cocked her head. “I’m trying but it’s nothing I’ve seen before.”
“Okay, just log it, and we’ll search the signature log when we get back to the lab.”
She nodded and went back to work on deciphering the symbols.
“I’ve got a set of bite marks on the neck,” Jace said from his kneeling position beside the woman’s head hanging over the edge of the bed.
“Are you sure?”
“Yup. The knife wound tries to mask it, but I can see a partial puncture into her carotid artery. There is no doubt that someone with fangs sucked on this girl’s neck.”
“Swab everything, maybe we’ll get lucky and get some DNA on that partial puncture. Hopefully our guy is a secretor.”
“Aren’t they all?” Mahina remarked.
