Find The Passion

Nothing in life is easy, and if you try to accomplish something without having a passion for it, it’s even harder. The same goes for writing - even after you’ve gotten published by your dream publisher.

I’m not talking about deadline stress, (I personally thrive on that), or how editing and promoting and the business side of things can often overtake the writing. I’m talking about how your creative side can sometimes just fall flat. I believe that it’s crucial for a writer to always remember that to write about life, you have to live life. As thrilling as getting caught up in your stories, blogs, careers and promotions are, it’s imperative that authors take the time to “refill the well”. Be it a nightly, weekly, or monthly thing, be sure to always take some time for yourself, to remind you what’s important in life. And that’s finding the passion in living. Remind yourself what it is about people you love, and hate. What it’s like to hang out with friends, experience romance, and even be a couch potato. You need to experience the things that make you who you are, so that you can go after what you want.

It’s so very hard not to become totally immersed in the worlds we create for our characters, and the online communities that share our love for stories and romance, but it’s even harder to write about passion, if you can’t find it in your own life.

This is a lesson I’ve have to remind myself of often, and yet somehow, the passion still slipped away from me. The hardest part about that was accepting the fact that I did lose it…finding it again has been easier than you’d think. I firmly believe finding the passion in my life – through travel, photography, and just hanging with friends - helps me to share all aspects of passion with the world through my writing.

Slim Camp ( a day late)

Hey everyone,

Sorry I’m a day late, I was distracted yesterday by a few things. Good things. Fun things. LOL

Anyway, I’ve been thinking about this, and I decided it’s the right move.

For the summer, I’m going to discontinue SLIM CAMP on Thursdays.

I’ve been having a hard time keeping up this past month, mostly becasue I am trying to spend more time doing things instead of talking about them or thinking about them. Including being more active. I’ve mentioned my own goals, and read other peoples. *Winners will be announced tomorrow..so if you haven’t watched the video blog below…be sure to check it out today* and even though so many of us share the Get In Shape goal, I can;t help but feel that for the summer, I want to do…not talk about, or write about…

I’ll still be posting recipes and doing, what I hope are, motivational posts….but Im not going ot say they’ll be every Thursday, or even every week. I’m just trying to limit my scheduling to other things. However, if ANYONE wants to guest blog, or has questions or recipes they want to share..please email me and I’ll get them up.

Amie Stuart sent me this recipe for Vegetable and Meatball soup a while ago…and I have to say it is good. Check it out here

I’ve also been making my own Hummus lately, so I’ll post the final recipe when I figure out what it is. (Yes, I’m experimenting.) Humus is a a great snack with veggies or even Rice Crackers. Full of protein and fibre. I’m tring a new way out today actually, this one with jalepeno peppers.

SO, please, keep at it…and keep stopping by… I just wanted to explain why I’m not going to be on a regular Thursday a schedule anymore. Basically, I suck at schedules. LOL

Reader’s Speak (and a Bargain Book!)

TROUBLE is now a Bargain Book on Amazon.com!

For $4.99 you can pick up Val and Samair’s story, and maybe complete your Sasha White collection. *grin* Maybe, like Debra A. Qualmann, who’s review of Trouble just went up on Amazon, you read WICKED first…see what Debra has to say about TROUBLE.

Loved the story–Feel the love!!, May 24, 2008

I love the growth of the relationship here–Samair might have been all about letting loose, and getting off on someone who was willing to fulfull her every fantasy–but through each interaction the relationship between these two just grew, the need suddenly not for just standard trust, but the more intimate, scary type of trust surfaces–and it wasn’t Samair weho needed to fight that demon–it was Val….

I read my books a little backwards here as I had originally read “Wicked” first–loved it, and made a mad dash to the nearest book store to get Trouble–Boy am I glad I did!!!

Samair Jones is bored with her go-nowhere job, and fed up with her two-timing boyfriend. She’s had it up to here with being the pushover. All Samair wants is to let loose, be herself, and live by her own rules.

But it’s only when she meets Valentine Ward, the hot owner of the club Risque, that the decadent possibilities of answering only to herself become daringly clear. Especially when Valentine is willing to indulge every one of Samair’s fantasies-no strings attached. At least none that Samair can see…

Then she meets Valentine’s ex-wife Vera. She’s powerful, wealthy, jealous and dangerously manipulative. Vera’s about to throw new kink into Samair and Valentine’s games. But this one could be trouble.
