A little somethin’

She shed her clothes the second she entered her apartment. First her blouse, then her skirt hit the carpet in an effort to finally feel cool air on her skin.
She went to the kitchen and stood in front of the open fridge for a minute, just enjoying the cold air.

“Sarah?” Her boyfriends voice floated in to her from the balcony.

“In the kitchen,” she called back.

“Bring a couple more beers when you come out here, will you?”

“Sure, baby.”

She grabbed a bottle of white wine and a couple of beers from the bottom shelf and closed the fridge door. After opening the bottle of wine, she reached for a glass from the cupboard and headed out to the balcony with full hands.

Three steps from the sliding doors she realized that Rick wasn’t alone outside, and she hesitated. Identifying the other voice as Mark’s, Sarah glanced down at her sheer bra and panties and a naughty naughty idea came to mind.

“Here you go,” she said as she swept aside the curtain and stepped out onto the balcony. She stopped short and glanced from Rick to Mark, wide eyed. “Oh! Hi Mark.”

“Hi Sarah.” A flush crept up Mark’s cheeks and he glanced away from her quickly. But not quick enough that she didn’t see the desire in them.

“Hey baby, come here.” Rick held out his hand to her, a knowing glint in his green eyes.

She handed him the beers and kissed his cheek before stretching out on the empty lounger behind their chairs. “How long have you boys been out here drinking?” she asked.

“Less than an hour,” Rick answered. “How was your day?”

They chatted as if there was nothing strange about her lying around in her lingerie in front of company. But their company was silent and Sarah wondered if being in her panties was making him shy, how was he going to react to the rest of her plan?

Friends?

Saskia asked me how the kitties got along while I was away. I can’t really answer that. They seem to have sorted some things out, and are more accepting of each other. I mentioned that they’ve been folowing me everywhere? Well, normally only one of them sits on my desk while I work, and the other sits on the floor or the little stand next to the desk…not right now. Now they both want to be close…and they’re not killing each other to do it. I hope the not killing each other part lasts.

Slim Camp

As a single person living alone, I don’t like to cook full meals every day. And Sandwiches and salad can get very boring, and that leads to things like A&W onion rings and bacon cheeseburgers. One thing I do to keep myself away from the fast food places is buy frozen dinners. But when buying them you have to be careful.

Pay attention to the calories and the ingredients.

Here’s some tips for what to look for when buying frozen entree’s. There’s more to it than getting the ones that say Light or Healthy Choice.

~ Less than 400 calories.
400 calories is a meal, so you want to aim for that area. You also want more than 200 or 250 calories, because those won’t fill you up, and then you’ll be prowling the kitchen for something more.

~ Low Sodium
No more than 700 mg sodium per meal. Too much sodium wil lhave you retaining water and feeling bloated.

~ Low in saturated fat.
Aim for no more than 5 gm’s

~High in Fibre.
Fibre is important! Look for meals with at least 2gms of fibre.

~ Veggies.
There are many meals out there with the veggies in them. But to my eye, many of them are high in sodium, (That teryaki sauce in a killer) . So *I* tend to stick with pasta dinners, and have a can/glass of low sodium V-8 juice with it.

I’m not real great at getting all my potions of veggies in, so I’ve gotten in the habit of cheating with the V* juice. It helps. What helps you stay on track?

Vote Now.

OKay, for those of you who do watch THE BIGGEST LOSER, I’m not telling you how to vote. But for those of you who Don’t watch, and maybe want to be my proxy in voting (Since only US residents can vote) I say please go here and Vote for Mark.

What’s Going on? OKay, TBL is about who can lose thhighest percentage of weight during the season. Like all reality shows, there are teams, and challenges, and someone gets voted off each week. However, in a twist, thist season they are not letting the final two top losers vote off the last person. Meaning,t hey don’t get to choose who the thirsd person inteh finale with them will be. America gets to do that.

I say Vote for Mark because they guy is a competitor. Not only has he done awesome in every challenge, but he was voted off once and then fought his way back onto the show (Like Alli) . He’s also grown a lot from the big obnoxious asshole he was at the start, into a pretty good guy. He deserves to compete in the finale…although I HOPE ALLI is the ulitmate winner…and the first female Biggest Loser!

So once again, if you don’t care/don’t watch/don’t know who to vote for…just go here and Vote for Mark on my behalf.

JERR

I found this review a while ago and never shared. Thought I’d just remind you all that the book is out there. Y’know, in case you haven’t bought it yet. *grin*

wickedTitle: Wicked
Author: Sasha White
Reviewer: Claudia Orpik
Rating: 5 Stars
Heat level: O

Karl Dawson is a very successful attorney by day. At night, he frequents The Dungeon, an underground BDSM establishment, where he lacks for nothing, having subs throw themselves at his feet. One day at work, he spies a lovely piece of humanity working under his desk. Lara comes up for air and challenges his prowess. She tells him she’s “willing to do anything once”. What will her reaction be when Karl tells her he’s a Dom and he’s ready to take her for the ride of her life? Will Karl exchange his playboy ways and establish an exclusive relationship with Lara?

My first thought after reading Wicked was to immediately rush to the nearest bookseller and buy the others in this series. Karl feels that deep down, Lara is a natural-born submissive. He takes her on a journey to discover her inner self. This journey takes them to unsuspected heights, exploring not only sexual but emotional boundaries. Karl is the perfect Dom as he takes over the sexual reins, giving Lara what he feels she needs, often leaving her wanting. Ms. White is the mistress of sexual tension; I often felt like Lara- sexually frustrated! Although Lara gives up sexual control, she definitely stands her ground outside of their lovemaking. Karl has definitely met his match with Lara. She’s such a wickedly, loveable, daring heroine, willing to try anything, even participating in a sex act with another woman. As an added treat, Ms. White brilliantly incorporates another couple’s story into Wicked. Peter and Graham are Lara’s self-appointed protectors. They know all about bad boy Karl, and are determined that Lara will not suffer from a broken heart. I absolutely adored this committed gay couple who suffered from growing pains. I am new to Ms. White’s writing but not for long. Damn you, Ms. White, you have compelled me to read more books by you!

Thank You, Claudia. I hope you enjoy them ALL!*grin*

Stop-Loss

I went and saw Stop-Loss this weekend. It’s pretty much what you’d expect, and yet so much more. The story is no surprise, not after you watch the trailers ( there is 2 different ones here for you to check out) , but the acting is phenomenal. The idea of the “back door draft” is a crappy one, but it becomes absolutely heartbreaking to see what these soldiers go through, not just when on deployment, but when they get home.

There was a time in my life, years ago, when I worked closely with many ex-military men, and the stories they told were enough to scare me. And to strengthen me, because you soon learn these guys need you to be strong for them. They’ll never tell you that, but you can see it in them.

It’s been a while since I’ve spoken to any of those guys, and after seeing this movie, all I want to do is find them and hold them and thank them.

Snow.

I woke up to a bit of a snow dump yesterday.

Which was sort of okay because I had edits to do…but as you can see, Scarlet has had enough of me working. She wanted to play.

More NY pics

I met Megan Hart at the RT conference last year, but didn’t get to spend much time with her because it was so hectic. When I saw her in NY, I made a point of spending more time witht his talented lady. Let me tell you, she’s awesome.

Megan Hart and Sasha White _ 2

Sylvia Day was my roommate for the week. I’ve known Sylvia for just over 4 years now, and she still makes me laugh. She says she’s shy, but I don’t believe it. I never have. Look at this picture…do you believe it?

Sylvia

Myla Jackson/Elle James is actually who I would term the ‘quiet one’ of our group. The lady is a lady with a stealth sense of humor that I thoroughly enjoyed. ANd she can barter with street vendors pretty damn good too!

I wasn’t going to post this picture, and I really hope Delilah doesn’t mind. I have to. It’s funny.
Instead of the ever-popular NYPD of NYFD shirts and stuff that are available to purchse. D and I chose to buy New York City Mental Institution t-shirts. We figured they suited us crazy writer chiks who talk to ourselves an live in our own worlds.
