Street Dancing

I’m hooked.

I’ve been watching that new show Randy Jackson presents Best Dance Crew and I’m hooked. My favorite crew is actually 2 of them
Boston’s Status Quo. ( I remember 2 of them from when they tried out for So You Think You Can Dance) and Kabba Modern.

There is some awesome dancing here. Is anyone else watching it? Who do you like?

Heh.

Last week I blogged about the upcoming Valentines Day with a post called It’s Started. And some people took it wrongly, as in I feel all lonely and depressed on V-Day. (Which isn’t true) But I freely admit I am not a fan of the “holiday”. So imagine how thrilled I was when I saw this post over at Southern Fried Chicas.

Go read it. Amie says it much better than I did.

So uhmm yeah… Take that V-Day!

A Date with Karl

I have a date with Karl. *grin*

Okay, so it’s not a date date…Karl Dawson, divorce lawyer and loving Dominant of WICKED fame has decided to indulge me. I’ve been after him for while, and he’s finally given in. He’s going to let me interview him for THE DUNGEON page here on my website. I’ve already got an interview with a female submissive, (Not Lara) so this will be a great feature to add to my The World of BDSM page.

Now, I need questions for him. That’s where you come in.

Anyone here have anything they’d like to ask this bad boy turned Hero?

If you do, then post the question in the comments to this post…and I’ll add them to my notes for our ‘date’. I’ll be sure to let you all know when the interview is done and up. Look for it at the beginning of March.

ADDED on Monday:
Yesterday’s JERR Newsletter had a great review for Wicked. Check it out.

Rating: 5 Stars
Heat level: O

My first thought after reading Wicked was to immediately rush to the nearest bookseller and buy the others in this series. Karl feels that deep down, Lara is a natural-born submissive. He takes her on a journey to discover her inner self. This journey takes them to unsuspected heights, exploring not only sexual but emotional boundaries. Karl is the perfect Dom as he takes over the sexual reins, giving Lara what he feels she needs, often leaving her wanting. Ms. White is the mistress of sexual tension; I often felt like Lara- sexually frustrated! Although Lara gives up sexual control, she definitely stands her ground outside of their lovemaking. Karl has definitely met his match with Lara. She’s such a wickedly, loveable, daring heroine, willing to try anything, even participating in a sex act with another woman. As an added treat, Ms. White brilliantly incorporates another couple’s story into Wicked. Peter and Graham are Lara’s self-appointed protectors. They know all about bad boy Karl, and are determined that Lara will not suffer from a broken heart. I absolutely adored this committed gay couple who suffered from growing pains. I am new to Ms. White’s writing but not for long. Damn you, Ms. White, you have compelled me to read more books by you!

Slim Camp

Laurie has a gret post up on her blog where she’s intorducing her Think Thin Thursdays.
It’s a wonderful post on some basic guidelines that we all need to remember on this journey. Thanks, Laurie!

As for Slim Camp, check out this tidbit that Amie emailed me afetr my posting about PMS.

Here’s a side effect of poor snacking choices you may not be aware of — increased PMS, or premenstrual syndrome.

It’s true! Foods high in sugar, salt, caffeine, and alcohol aren’t just filled with empty calories, they can also increase the likelihood of mood swings, fatigue, bloating, and other menstrual misery in the days leading up to your period, says endocrinologist Susan Thys-Jacobs.
So instead of giving in to those cravings for chocolate and ice cream, reach for a healthier choice instead, like fresh fruits and vegetables, low-fat dairy, and whole grains during snack time. Drinking eight glasses of water a day and taking a multivitamin can help, too
.

Hmph!

As for me and my “must do” mindset this week…well, Mondya and Tuesday were good. Wednesday I had to really force myself to make it tothe gym. But I did. I only worked out for 30 mins, but it was btter than nothing.

I also made myself a new sort of stirfry that turned out great.

See, one of the staples to my own eating plan is that for dinner I eat either A) a Salad or B)a Stir Fry. Those are my two choices because they are easy and healthy. I always have either beef, chicken or the odd time, shrimp, with them too. Anyway. I was tired of the Brocollie, Cauliflower, tomato and carrot stif fry, so I tried one with Bok Choy.

It’s the first time I’ve cooked woth Bok Choy, and I impressed myself.

Recipe:
Chicken Breast (diced,and cooked )

2 Large stalks of Bok Choy (Chopped)
3 or 4 radishes (sliced)
4 or 5 mushrooms (quartered)

Heat Wok to HIGH. When oil is hot…Toss all ingredients into Wok, (including already cooked chicken) sprinkle some Garlic Salt and toss a few times until Leafy Bok Choy is limp.

Pu in bowl or on plate. Then chop a green onion and sprinkle on top. I also sprinkled a bit of Soy sauce. :) Not lot though, cuz soy sauce is very high in Sodium, not so good for us.

It was nice, and all in all took less then ten minutes. (Except for chicken..lol bt I cook threee or four breasts on Monday, and use all week)

How are y’all doing? Drinking any Pepsi? Eating any cookies? Working out?

Keeping up with your goals?

YAY!

So yesterday was hell.

It was Monday, and I was grumpy, and trying desperately to stick to my new diet plan. The one where I actually know I can’t put off being serious about my health any longer. I stuck to it yesterday, and I even stuck mostly to my Productivity goals (Per writing and business stuff)

I’ve always said I have no trouble losing weight when I get serious, but I’ve had a hard time making myself care the pst couple of years. Well, I think this is it. I used to love flying. I love traveling. However, last year when I got on the plane to got to RT I had a hard time fitting in the seat. You see, People say I carry my weight well, but its because it’s all in my ass and thighs, that people don’t notice it as much. Unless they’re looking at my ass. LOL I say it’s because the bottom half of my body is my Italian half. (The top half, with the mouth that likes to drink and swear, is the Irish half). Anyway, carryong all my extra weight in my butt makes fitting into those airplane seats uncomfortable. SO this year, I’m gonna fit.

The trouble? I have to lose 30 pounds just to be where I was last year.

So I have a flight to New York in March, and a flight to PhillyPittsburgh in April. I aim to be where I was last year for New York, and another 10-15 pounds less by PhillyPittsburgh. (For RT. and costumes. LOL )

Yep, Think I can lose 25 -30 pounds in 6 weeks? Yikes, I usually aim for 10 pounds a month…but I’m serious.

Anyway, I woke up before 8 AM this morning to work out, and I’m off to work now..and I feel very awake. So awake it’s scary…

I hope my motivation is catchy to you !!!

It’s started.

Y’know, generally speaking I like February, but I’m so fucking tired of Valentine’s Day. Not so much the day itself, but all the build up is getting to be a PITA.

It’s barely the start of the month and I’m already tired of all the crap. It’s a predjuduce day. Yep, what about all us single people, huh? We have to watch the commercials full of romance, listen to the radio ads for jewelry, delete all the emails for flowers, and drool over all the chocolates that no one is going to buy for us. Yes, I can buy some for myself, but it’s not the same. I can buy some for myself anytime, and I do. I buy myself flowers occasionally, and chocolate way too often.

The point is, Single people need love too, especially on Valentine’s Day, becasue that’s when we are hyper aware of being single … and alone… again.

And then we eat the chocolate we bought ourselves, and read a romance novel before crying ourselves to sleep.

Okay, that’s a total exageration. LOL At 38 years old, having been single for every Valentines Day I’ve had, I’m used to it so it’s more of an annoyance than anything. And it’s not about being single, it’s about the fact that it’s become such a huge commercial holiday. The being single…it does sit in the back of the mind- in the back of my mind anyway. And as per every other day, sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it. So I’m not sure what I’m going to do this year to celebrate my aloneness, but I’ll let you know when I figure it out.

Cat News

As an aside, I hope my cats are feeling the love by then. I’ve had Scarlet for a month and a half now, and the first month was fine, a small bit of hissing when they met, but that was it. They seem good most of the time, but then the last two weeks, every time I turn around they are fighting. Or are they playing?

No blood yet. It usually starts with one of them walking up to the other, who is sleeping, then they start going for each others throats. A small quick scuffle with a lot of scratching, and the occasional cry, then they separate themselves. Then Scarlet chases Mystery around the house. Sometimes Mystery chases Scarlet, but it’s rare. This morning I heard a bit of growling so I went and looked, and Mystery was laying under the coffee table, with Scarlet on top of it. Scarlet would jump down and swat at Mystery before dashing away.

I’m just not sure if they’re playing, or trying to figure out who’s boss, or if they’ll never get along. If they’re playing, okay, I’ll ignore them. If they’re fighting, I need to find a new home for Scarlet.

Any ideas?

Wicked Reviews

A Romance Review.com gives WICKED 5 Stars!

“Karl, the leather wearing bad boy divorce lawyer who appeared in Bound and Trouble sets the pages on fire in Wicked. Sasha White will blow you away with her latest release. Karl and Lara are such compelling characters you’d swear they were real people. The love scenes are arousing to say the least. Watching Karl and Lara find each other was sigh worthy. An all around fantastic read.”

Amanda at Romance Junkies.com says:
“WICKED by Sasha White is the best erotic story I’ve ever read. Everything from Ms. White is amazing, but WICKED struck a cord with me that her other books haven’t as yet. I could relate to Lara, a woman who’s used to being in charge but willing to give up her power to be taken by the man of her dreams.”

Sarah Silversmith at The Romance Readers Connection also gives Wicked a thoughtful review…
“I’ve seen a maturity to the books which I have read by Ms. White. Lara and Karl are rich, three dimensional characters with feelings, concerns and desires. Karl is very realistic in his view of his sexual preferences. D/s relationships can come in many flavors, and in books, many times they can digress into caricatures. WICKED does not do that, and while it takes the sexual fantasy fairly seriously, it does so in a realistic and interesting way. I devoured this book in one sitting and enjoyed every minute of reading it.”

Cats

Mystery, has been with me for about 4 years now, and she keeps me company all the time. Even when writing. (As you can see to the left here.) I’ve always been more of a Dog person, but I live in an apartment. Plus, when I agreed to watch Mystery for a friend four years ago, I didn’t know it would be forever. But I’m okay with that. Mystery and I have become friends, and I love her. She is always with me, and she just keeps me company so I don’t get lonely. Mostly.

And then recently I got sucked in adopted a new one. Scarlet.

So I was procrastinating yesterday, and found a blog post about a stressed cat that had me laughing, and reading ALL of the comments, because well, I have two cats now - and one of them is what my brother calls ‘a monster‘ because she’s so big. She’s not fat though, honestly, she is Big. As in , when I pick her up and hold her beneath her front arms to dangle her - I like to see the cat hang - her body is the length of my legs. If she stand on her back legs and tries to get my attention, she can reach my waist with her claw- paws. That would be Mystery, she’s big.

And to make her seem even bigger, there’s dainty Scarlet. Who is tough and scrappy, but also beautiful (despite missing half an ear). Scarlet is built small and fast, and she zooms all over the place, and is a maniac with chasing the feather toy and the laser printer. I figure it’s becasue she’s younger than Mystery, but also becasue she was a stray for a while.

The difference also becomes apparent when I’m cooking. Mystery doesn’t always want what I eat. She isn’t interested in the pre-cooked chicken breast meat I buy sometimes for stir-fry’s or salads, but Scarlet, she’s a garbage guts. She’ll eat anything she can get her teeth on. I figure again, left over habit from being stray. And as much as I’m feeding this cat, she’s not growing. She’s still small, dainty and fast.

Anyway. I worry about Mystery thinking I’ve replaced her, so I shower affection on her…and after reading this blog post yesterday, I’ll KEEP showering affection on her. I do not want a pissed off/ stressed Mystery Monster pee-ing on my leg. (GO read that post, you won’t regret it!)

PS: <—– This look right here is the one I get when trying to interest Mystery in playing with the feather thing. She liked it at first, but then she got smart. Same with the laser pointer. She chased it for a week, then realized she’s never gonna catch it. Now she just looks at me, watches Scarlet go nuts, and walks away.
