Jillian’s Back!

I admit it. I got hooked on The Biggest Losertwo years ago. And last year I didn’t enjoy it as much, but this year, Jillian Michaels is Back! I LOVE HER! I want her as my personal trainer.

I want Bob Harper as my husband.

I had a crush on Bob after the first episode of TBL I saw, but it truly deepened when he was on Ellen’s show, training her to get in shape for the Oscar’s. Yep, he even inspired a hero in ASK EVE. (Which has been postponed, but will get written.)

Anyway, last week I decided it was time to get serious. Really, time. I want to lose 80 pounds, and I’ve finally accepted that it’s not going to happen without working out 5-6 days a week. For the last two years I’ve faught it. I wanted to be normal and go to the gym 2-3 times a week. I spent all of my 20’s training and working hard at staying in top physical shape. I’m 38 in two months, and in the last 8 years I’ve gained 100 pounds.

Notice I gained 100, but only want to lose 80. That’s because I know I won’t ever live the same intensely physical lifestly I did in my 20’s, and I’m okay with that. Plus, I do think women should have curves, and I love to be soft in all the right places.

The plan…5-6 days a week until I hit my goal (Be it size of jeans or weight..I’ll know it when I get there. ) then once I hit the goal..it will be 2-3 days a week to maintain…forever. And honestly, I enjoy working out. I love the way it makes me feel…the hardest part of this whole thing for me? Giving up my diet Dr.Pepper and Coke.

Tuesday night’s THE BIGGEST LOSER is my weekly kick in the ass.

Who else out there wants to work on getting healthier with me?

A little Competition

My buddy Lorelei James and I were talking yesterday about our current projects and deadlines, and she challenged me to a race! I have a 10k short story due in two weeks and she has a 15k project, so our first race is to see who can get to 10k first.

I tried real hard yesterday to get some done too. I got 2k words. Only It was a couple hundred of this, a couple hundred of that..and I’m not sure any of it will actually make it into the story. Do you think those words count toward my 10k?

In other news, I baught a new computer. And let me tell you, the 20 inch screen on my new iMac is very different than the 14 screen of my iBook. At least when I’m on the desktop I don’t have to wear my reading glasses. And I’ve not hooked the desktop up to the internet, and I’m not planning to until November, after I’ve handed in my next Berkley. Yup, the desktop is in the office, and I’m training myself so that when I sit down at that desk, it’s time to work.

The laptop means play.

Play like this.

Look what Joy sent me!! More TROUBLE in the bookstore. Look at all those copies. I think someone should go buy them. Or one anyways.

Another thing I noticed. Only 1 copy of LUSH left! YAY!!

In other news. I’m finally getting started on my short story for ALLURING TALES 2; HOT SUMMER NIGHTS. (It will be released in 08) It’s gonna be short, and very HOT.
Then next up is my single title for Berkley.

I’ll maybe post some excerpts for y’all over the weekend. :)

The lovely Lauren Dane was on vactaion last week, and she took Trouble with her. (You’re a smart woman, Lauren..I hope it helped inspire some Holiday fun.) And she posted her thoughts on the book on her blog. I’m going to cheat, and show them to you here…

“Sasha White’s Trouble: I’m telling you, Sasha needs to send me an ARC of Karl’s story or I’m gonna have to tackle her at RT and I know what she looks and sounds like so she can’t hide from me.

Trouble is the story of Samair and Valentine - two very unlikely people in a very unlikely romance and yet, White has the hand to make it work and she does most ably.

Her characters are vivid and three dimensional, the sex (as always) is smoking hot and Trouble is just an all around fabulously fun read. White gives us real people with jobs, real people working through personal stuff, real people trying to figure out where someone else can fit in their life when they have goals and dreams that take a lot of time and dedication. I love that. Samair is not some withering heroine who gives up everything for her man but she’s smart enough to recognize the fact that true love isn’t something that rolls up every day.

Nicely done, Sasha! (now, about that ARC…”

Isn’t that great?

You can read about the other books Lauren read on her vaction HERE. I think I might have to pick up the new Michelle Pillow book after reading Lauren’s review.

Trouble_main aisleWhooo Hooo!!!
And Thank You Nicole for this pic!! It’s thrilling to see TROUBLE on a spotlight table. (click on the picture for a larger one if you want)

I’ve noticed at the bookstores here in Alberta, my Berkley Books (Bound, Kink, and Trouble) are usually shelved in Erotica. Even while some other Berkley Heat books are shelved in romance. I think it’s because my covers are a bit edgier than the normal romance cover. However, I also think my covers completely suit my stories and I think they rock. *grin*
But it does make hunting the bookstores for my books fun sometimes.

Then again, when is hunting any books in a bookstore not fun?

I love just wandering around a bookstore, browsing, looking at covers and reading blurbs. Sometimes I go to the bookstore just to inspire myself if I’m struggling with a story. Sometimes I reach for a bottle of tequila -but that’s a different blog post. The other day I went to the gym, it wokred well.

What works for you when you need to inspire/motivate yourself?

Social Butterfly

Normally my social life consists of work. Not the writing work, that’s not so socila, but the waitressing/bartending. But this week, I had two parties to go to. One was a going away party for Dani, my friend, and my boss at work. God, I’ll miss her. She’s making a big change in her life and moving back to Saskatchewan after 13 years of running this BP’s. Change is good, but she’s the reason I’ve stayed at that job as long as I did. She’s an amazing woman.

Good thing she’s into email so keeping in touch will be easy.

The other party was last night.

The BP’s I work at is near a few big businesses, one of them being the Molson Brewery. So all theri staff are regulars of ours. Now that the brewery is closed down, we don;t se all of them as much as we used to. But one in particular, Dave, is and always will be around every day. And lastnight was his combination retirement/birthday party. I worked most of it. Serving drinks and chatting with everyone until after eleven, then I booked off early as it had slowed down, and left the new girl to bartened and close up so I could sit and have some drinks too! It was wonderful.

Niehter were big go dancing, party all night parties, but both were very special and extremely social as thery were full of people I don’t see often enough in a social setting. Both made me realize I’ve been slightly anti-social lthe past year …

Anyway, I just wanted to share since it’s the holiday weekend, and I’m working the rest of it.
