Sunday

It’s a bright sunny day and the birds are chirping like mad right outside my window. I love the birds chirping much more than the neighbors kids running and screaming, but Mystery teh cat is driven a little crazy by the birds chirping. She goes into full hunter mode and slinks across the room to peek over the window sill at the big tree where the birds sit. I’d open up the door to the sun deck for her but I’m scare she’ll make a leap for a bird and fall three stories to the ground. Or perhaps get stuck in the tree and not be able to get down. She’s always been an indoor cat so that is entirely possible, then I’d have to call the fire department to rescue her.

Hmmm, maybe I should let her out on the deck.

Sorry I haven’t been a good blogger lately. I’m still in some sort of limbo. But on the edge of limbo if that makes any sense? I’ve made the decisions on how to get some positive changes in my life (the going back to work thing, and deciding on a new writing project, and thinking about a new fitness plan) but not all things have been put into place yet. But they all start this week, so I’m anticapating a week of “Oh my God! What was I thinking?” then hopefully I’ll be back to feeling like a normal person.

By that I have to say, I haven’t been feeling like ME for a long time. I’ve always been passionate in all that I do. I’m also, more often than not, quit opinionated. (But to me, they are opinions and I’m entitled to them. I voice them strongly, but I also acknowledge that they are only my opinions. Others don’t have to agree. I just prefer they do. LOL ) I always used to say “Life is for living“, and I think that’s what I’ve stopped doing.

In my all or nothing way, I stopped living a lot of my life to focus on one aspect. My writing. Building a career. And that’s going to change.

Please do not think I regret anything I’ve done. I do Not. I love what I’ve done. I made the choice to focus 150% on my writing and to build myself a niche, and I feel I’ve done that. And I will continue to write. Only now I’ve realized that the writing part of my life has become like all the others – In need of change.

It’s me, I thrive on change. It makes me feel like I’m growing, like I’m learning, like I’m alive. So, while I will continue to write erotic fiction, I’m also starting a new project. (I’ll tell you all about it when I’m further into it. I promise you. And I really do think you’ll all love it too!) Let me say again, I will continue to write erotic fiction, it feeds a certain part of my spirit that I thoroughly enjoy. So, yes I will continue to write, and I am going back to work 5 shifts a week, and I’m going back to the gym. These are all things I’ve talked about many times…finding a balance. Only this time I’m not so much looking to find a balance as I am planning on living life.

Yep, I enjoy writing, and bartending, and even working out. So I’m going to do all three – screw balance and screw planning. I’m just going back to doing what I enjoy, and what I want. I’m young and single with nothing to tie me down..so why not remember that and do all that that I want to do…just because I want to?

Sort of like Samair, the heroine in TROUBLE. You see, I’ve always known that I put a bit of myself into all of my heroines, but the part I put into Samair is a part I seem to have lost in myself for a while. Thank you to Raine for talking about Trouble and Samair in her recent blog post, and reminding me what It was.

———————————
That blog post sort of turned into a real ramble that I never planned. But I’m going to leave it, because it’s true…and I miss chatting with you all about things other than books. Now that I’ll be living a biut more, I’m sure the blogging will liven up again too.

Hobbies

I firmly believe we all need hobbies. Things that give us pleasure, and help us expand our lives. As most of you know, photography is one of my hobbies and I posted a few pics over onteh Passionate Prose Blog today.

In all honesty, it’s not much of a post, I’m not really feeling talkative, but then again, that’s one of the things about pictures isn’t it? I can say something, without really talking.

Another great thing is, everyone see’s somethign different in pictures. Why don’t you all visit me Here and tell me what you see.

Work

So, I’ve decided to go back to work almost full-time. Yup, this restlessness that has been eating at me for months is going to get fed by serving food and drink for a while. I’ll still eb writing so don’t panic. In fact, one of the things is, I almost think I was more productive with my writing when I was working more hours in the bar. It sort of gets me in the mind set that when I sit down to write…I write!! I don’t surf the internet or check my online horoscope. okay, so I do still do those things, but not when I should be writing. Make sense?

And to keep things a changing, I’m not going back to the bar full-time nights. I’m going to work a mix of day shifts in the restaurnat, and night shift is in the bar. In my mind, this is perfect. Both my boss’s (restaurant and bar) were super accomadating when I told them I wanted to come back, and gave me my choice of shifts. *grin*

I’m looking forward to going back to work on a steady regular basis. Is that weird?

In the meantime The First THREE CHAPTERS of TROUBLE are now up on the TROUBLEbookpage so check them out!!

OH, and a new review for TROUBLE as well.

From Fresh Fiction

Wow!! TROUBLE is a hot, sexy and erotically refreshing read. Sasha White does a fabulous job of keeping the balance between an interesting plot and uninhibited sexual activity.

Blood Ties

Nope, I’m not talking about a new vampire story. Or even a new paranromal one. I’m going to tell you about a great new series i’ve found. Blood Ties is the first book in Lori Armstrong’s mysery series with heroine Julie Collins.

Blood Ties CoverBlood Ties…What do they mean?

How far would someone go to sever…or protect them?

Julie Collins is stuck in a dead-end secretarial job with the Bear Butte County Sheriff’s office, and still grieving over the unsolved murder of her Lakota half-brother. Lack of public interest in finding his murderer or the killer of several other transient Native American men, has left Julie with a bone-deep cynicism she counters with tequila, cigarettes, and dangerous men.

The one bright spot in her mundane life is the time she spends working part-time as a PI with her childhood friend, Kevin Wells. When the body of a sixteen-year old white girl is discovered in nearby Rapid Creek, Julie believes this victim will receive the attention others were denied. Then she learns Kevin has been hired, mysteriously, to find out where the murdered girl spent her last few days. Julie finds herself drawn into the case against her better judgment, and discovers not only the ugly reality of the young girl’s tragic life and brutal death, but ties to her and Kevin’s past that she is increasingly reluctant to revisit. On the surface the situation is eerily familiar. But the parallels end when Julie realizes some family secrets are best kept buried deep. Especially those serious enough to kill for.

Blood Ties is a contemporary mystery with a heroine who is real. She’s rough, tough, smart and sexy. The mystery is great, in all honesty, it’s one that kept me guessing Whodunnit right until the end.

The story starts with Julie working in the Sheriff’s department as a secretary, but she also works part time helping out a friend who is a private detective. So when the body of a young white girl shows up – killed in the same manner as her half brother, she can’t help but lookinto things. The trail takes her into biker bars, fights, and deep into family secrets territory.

While the mystery is good, the character is awesome. She’s a bit foul-mouthed, and she likes to drink tequila, and she likes to have sex. She also makes mistakes. In her relationships, and her acting before she thinks at times. She’s not a superhero, and she has no special powers. She gets in a fight or two, and even manages to win, sometimes. She is my favorite kind of protagonist, She’s real! I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this author or this series before!

Blood Ties is this first in the series, and it was released in 2005, I’ve already ordered books 2 and three, and hope that there will be more! If you like a great mystery that keeps you hooked from page one, be sure to look for Blood Ties, Hallowed Ground, and Shallow Grave. Oh, and did I mention there’s a few hot men in Julie’s life too?

Mixing it up

So, I’m doing pretty good in the writing department, but my personal schedule is all messed up again. I’m sleeping in shift of 4or 5 hours at night, and then a 2-3 hour nap in the early afternoon. I’m sure the recent heat wave we’ve got going on here has something to do with it, but for now, I’m crediting writing with it. I actually love to sleep during the day, for whatever reason, I always get a deeper sleep. I think I might have to give my new character that trait as well.

In other writing news, TROUBLE is almost here! I’m checking for my author copies almost every day, but they’re not here yet. To be honest, sometimes they arrive after the book has hit the store, but I’m still anxiously waiting for it.

ARC’s went out a while back so reviews are coming in, and yes, I’m going to start posting and bragging.(and that includes excerpts, like the one included at the end of this post) I think one of the reasons TROUBLE is so exciting to me is because not only is it a hot romance story, but it’s about friendships too, and that’s important to me.

So, it seems that Romantic Times magazine has given TROUBLE 4 Stars. More important than the star rating is the comment…and check it out!!

“White’s highly erotic tale is an attention-grabber from page one. The story starts with a scorching encounter between the main characters and keeps the heat level high with a steamy threesome. The heroine’s personality will appeal to the wild side that lurks inside us. All the characters are easy to relate to, and a vicious ex-wife adds plenty of conflict. Other elements keep the tension building, and the plot doesn’t lag anywhere.”

Then there’s the 5 Blue Ribbons from Romance Junkies as well!!

“Sasha White’s stories just get better and better. TROUBLE was smoking hot, erotic, fun and sassy! Samair is the girl next door turned vixen on a mission. She’s sassy, sweet, passionate and smart. Val on the other hand is dominant, suave, rugged and so damn sexy you’ll melt when you read about him. The moment these two meet, the world crumbles down around them. It’s like an earthquake between them. This was definitely the most sexually engaging book I’ve read in a long time. I couldn’t put TROUBLE down. The story line is flawless, hooking this reader from the very first sentence. If you are a reader looking for a cross between romance, erotica, a great storyline and some humor thrown in, then TROUBLE is the story for you. I loved the fact that both characters were after something more in the relationship than just sex, but were a little worried about scaring the other one off. Sasha White portrays her characters in real life situations which makes them even more endearing to readers. This is definitely a book for the keeper shelf and I cannot wait to read the next book from the astonishing Ms. White very soon!”
