Happy HALF NEKKID THURSDAY everyone!

I didn’t go to see the movie Blood Diamond when it was in theaters because I knew it would probably make me cry. And I was right. I rented it the other night, and sure enough, while the movie brought back many memories of the little things I’ve forgotten about my own time in Africa, it also broke my heart.

I only spent 6 months in Africa, just over 4 of them in South Africa (running a bar at a Backpackers Hostel, and volunteering at acouple of schools 2 days a week), and almost 2 months traveling up the coast to Swaziland and Mozambique. While I didn’t see any villages get burned out, or slaughtered, I did see a few diamond mines while in SA, and and a lot of armed soldiers. I also saw what sort of shape a country was in after a civil war. There are many things I could say about the country, but right now, I just want to remember the little things that made it special.

Like the fact that the movie did get it right. Most of the people I met there cared only more about their family than any amount of money. Maybe it was just because I was lucky enough to spend most of my time away fromthe bigger cities, on the coast. There was a small city that was completely modern in every way, and not far out of the city, were townships and farm schools and country clubs.

I keep telling myself that some day I’ll write about my time there, but I haven’t done it yet, and I’m not truly sure why. I have started to put some of my photos into the Ablums on my Photo Page.

Happy Friday the 13th!!

Not much going on right now. I’m back at work, struggling to stay with the excercise program, and gettting ready for my book signing tomorrow night.

By getting ready I mean buying some wine. *grin* and reading LUSH in search of a scene or two to read for the audience.

Beth tagged me with 5 THING I OBSESS ABOUT.

Here I go:

1) Email. Beth says she checks hers constantly. I can cop to this one too. First thing I do when I get home, and last thing I do before bed, and many many times in between.

2) A story. When I’m writing a story, I obsess about it to the point of everything else in the world fading into the background.

3) Sex. Maybe it’s because I’m single, and I’m trying to be a very well behaved girl by giving up my lover who -was a nice guy - but just a bed buddy. I’m sort of in the mind set right now that if I behave, I’ll be rewarded very nicely by the Karma Gods, and maybe find the connection I’ve been looking for. However, no sex in my life does put sex constantly on my brain.

4) Food. I’m getting back in shape and working out regularly, so I’m pretty obsessive about my eating right now.

5) Did I mentione sex?

It’s been a hectic week. The lovely head cold and tremendous lethargy hasn’t helped. I have no news, I’m working, writing and sleeping. LOL

So I want to take this post to encourage y’all to surf around my site. There are many hidden goodies about …like this FREE READ. So I’m still looking for models to pose for me….My friends all say they want to do it…but when it comes time, they get shy! I have a few male freinds who are super eager to do it, but they just want pictures of their cocks. LOL. When one of them lets me draw happy faces or get creative with it, I’ll take him up on it.

So it was getting warmer. Spring was just around the corner…and suddenly the corner got further away.

Yup. It snowed yesterday. And I’m sick. Literally. I think it’s just a cold. Y’know can’t breath, head pounding all I want to do is sleep cold? That kind. But I went to work today, and to the gym too. But I think tomorrow I’ll be comatose.

I’m trying to write, and my brain will not work. Strangely I think that’s helping my story idea, but really not helping my typing.
