lazy

So, for the last couple of years I’ve been trying to lose weight. And sometimes I do really good. I stick with it and I feel good. The other times I don’t care. Mentally, I want to be healthier, but I know unless I really want it, it won’t happen.

Writing is the same. I can write a novella in a week, when I want to.

But right now, I’m not getting anything done. And I know it’s because I don’t have the urge. Yet, I’m not depressed. I just feel lazy. Is it a seasonal thing? Is it just time to go lay on a beach for while? I don’t want to be lazy.

So How do I kickstart my ass?

Ooooh Sasha! I’ve been there. If you’re online at night you can join me, Clarice, The Feistiest and Shell for write offs. Man it definitely kicked started my muse and we are all writing anywhere from 2k to 4k per day when we do them.

If you figure it out, please let me know.

And, on another note, I finished Bound last night after starting it the night before. (Only a distinct lack of sleep prevented me from finishing it in one night.) I really enjoyed it–I liked watching both Katie and Joe reveal different parts of themselves–even to themselves. And, it was hot. Way hot. So that’s always good.

I’ve have the Sisters of the Severed Hand. We email each other with what we’ve done today and so on.

They keep throwing severed hands at me because I’m soooo behind.

Have you considered tackling something you might not otherwise? Something new and different for you? Or maybe you just NEED that downtime to recharge your batteries. I tend to do a bit of both between projects. Either way, it’s all good

Sasha I’m right there with you. I feel damn lazy too. I just couldn’t give a toss. Food is so nice. And exercise just isn’t

I had the same problem. Felt lazy. Didn’t want to write. The only thing that snapped me out of it was utter terror from the realization I had a book due in 30 days that was only half finished. Damn, did that light a fire under my ass in a hurry.

Yes, That happens to me. Often. LOL
But I just finsihed writing 10 stories inthe last year and a half, adn I want to take a break from writing for deadlines. Now the question is, without a deadline…wil I still write? LOL

You need a friend to poke you relentlessly and who’ll be merciless in refusing to hear any excuses.

Oh and in a pinch? I watch The Matrix because it’s all sooo pretty and hawt.

I think it’s just the time of year. A lot of people are having a difficult time accomplishing anything. It’ll pass. Until then, force yourself to do a couple of paragraphs.

I wish I had the answer to the lazy slump attitude, I love to bum it, today I spent the afternoon on the beach with the kids and it perked me up a bit.

I kick started myself by signing up for the cancer walk LOL Now I HAVE to get in shape (or it’ll kill me).

I still have a horrible time motivating myself to get out though.
