Misled!

MISLED is by Sylvia Day. It’s her first Ellora’s Cave release, and her first published Futuristic. I can honestly say that this is a great book. Sylvia also writes historicals for Brava, and as her critique partner I’ve read some of them. They’re great too, but I’m not a huge fan of historicals. Don’t let the fact that she writes historicals fool you into thinking her futuristics don’t rock!

If you like sexy alpha males, and strong independant woman, wrapped up in a story full of hot action. Check it out!!

Special Task Force agent Derek Atkinson has a craving for luscious vamp Sable Taylor. But Sable is a bounty hunter, which makes him direct competition in the capture of wanted criminals. Despite the obvious attraction between them, she won’t give him a chance and after two years, he’s tired of waiting for her to come around.

So he’s got a plan to give them both what they want…each other.

Sable’s on a dangerous mission. She’s not who Derek thinks she is, so a relationship just isn’t possible. But like most master vampires, Derek’s wily and used to having his way. When he traps her on his ship, she decides to indulge. Two straight days of mind-blowing sex should be enough, but it isn’t, not for either of them. Her heart is involved now, but Sable can’t let Derek get too close. If he finds out what she’s doing, he’ll never forgive her.

Derek, however, refuses to let go. Now he’s getting shot at and asking questions she shouldn’t answer. Sable has to reveal the truth… Derek’s love has been misled…

  1. Hmmm, I know it’s on my to buy list.

So is her Bad Boys Ahoy Brava book, when it comes out…

  2. The book sounds awesome and I love the cover!!!

  3. Vivi~ I’m lucky enough to have read the Bad Boys Ahoy series too. I’m not much for historicals, but Sylvia does a great job. It’s not so overflowign with discription that the sotry gets lost. It’s till abtout he characters. WHich to mee, all good stories shoudl be.

The same with Misled. While futuristic and Vamps, the characters are well drawn! It’s easy to want them to succeed. :)

Chey~ Isn’t that cover fabulous! If I was Sylvia, I’d enlarge it and have it printed. LOL

  4. That cover is ab-fab!

  5. Gosh, I hate to say it, but the cover is the same sub-standard Elloras Cave garbage. So juvenile. But that’s not to take away from the author, since I’m sure she has no control over the crap cover she’s given. Knowing Sylvia’s work, I’m guessing the story will be above top-notch. Congratulations to Syl!

  6. It’s interesting you say that Darian.

Have you seen any covers lately that you thought were superior in that regard.

I think you have to remember who the cover is selling to…women who like their romances hot and their men hotter.

  7. Sounds like an interesting story.

  8. Yes, but it seems to me that if "women who like their romances hot and their men hotter" were to shop for a book that would appeal to them, they wouldn’t pick up a book with the cover of a svelte dominatrix type of woman featured (unless they "swing" that way) but a cover that features a guy, or at least a couple in a clinch (and not those silly fake-people covers which Elloras Cave is known for churning out). Seems that the marketing of the cover is all wrong…this cover would appeal to men who like to be whipped, not a woman in need of a hot romance.

  9. I completely disagree, Darien. Both of my LSB covers have women on them, and I love them, plus I’ve gotten great comments on them.

You dont’t have to be a lesbian to buy a cover with a hot woman on it, or else why would Cosmopolitan, Fit, or even Redook have women on the covers?

Hot women appeal to women because we all want to BE her, not DO her.
