Today is Dani’s 30th birthday!!
But since she went out of town for her celebration, myself and another bud took her out for dinner earlier this week. (Dani is the one on the right.) Mexicasn food, and jugs of Sangria!
And girl talk always turns to clothes..so I mentioned that I’ve seen and heard a lot of chatter on the RWA loops and various blogs about clothes for the upcoming RWA conference. Now, my friends know this, and I guess it’s time for you to know it too. It’s time for me to come out of the closet.
I hate clothes shopping.
I live for sweatpants, jeans, and tanks tops. In the winter, I like sweatshirts and flannel tops. I’m not a shoe fanatic. I go barefoot whenever I can. But, since everyone is emphasizing looking good and prfessional at this conference, I figured maybe I better bring more than the three pairs of sweatpants I was planning on. However, I hate to be uncomfortable in my clothes. So when my Dani offered to go shopping for me. I was thrilled.
You see, Dani is also my boss at the restaurant/lounge, and she always looks good. I trust her judgement. And she didn’t laugh at me when she showed me everything she baught for me and all I could say was “Oh, I like this shirt, it’ll look great with jeans.” “This one too. It’ll look great with jeans!”
So, I kept one skirt she bought, and sent the trousers back to the store. I kept the tank tops and flirty dressy ones too, becasue they’ll look good with slacks and jeans. So I should be looking somewhat dressy, professional, and comfortable during the conference. Thanks, Dani!! :D

I’m a jeans, sweats, barefoot kinda girl myself, but for me–it’s all about the shoes. I LOVE heels. Never wear them (to chase 6 kids around the house? Um-No.)
But I love having them. And the thought that might wear them. So you see, I would have to dress up to match my shoes! Makes a ton of sense, no?
