Winners & Words

Whoo hooo, winners from the giveaway.
Ronda Inman and Shaiha.

Please email your snail mail addy’s ladies and I’ll get the prizes out next week. :)

I’va had people, especially friends ask me if Sable in GYPSY HEART is me. I mean, she’s a brunette bartender/photographer that’ns not shy abotu her body and likes to travel. Sounds like it could be me, (But I suck as a photographer) but it isn’t. It’s more like Sable’s life is the extreme rose colored version of how I want mine to be LOL. for example, read this short excerpt from GYPSY HEART.

A boisterous voice called her name and she glanced at the twenty-something hottie with the gaudy paper hat perched on his head.
“What can I get ya, cutie?” she asked him.
With a flip of her tousled curls and a saucy wink at the Birthday Boy, she forced herself to focus on work. She’d been joking with them for the last half hour or so while they hung out in front of her bar, taking turns ordering drinks and hitting on her.
This new shade of “Rock Star Red” lipstick was doing the trick tonight. The men were lining up and she could see her tip jar getting fuller by the hour. They flirted outrageously, and while none of them made her heart skip a beat, she still enjoyed every minute of it. Not much in life could feed a girl’s ego like a line-up of men panting after her.
These boys were out to have a good time and she accepted, even reveled in, the fact that she was part of the entertainment.
“How about a kiss?” the Birthday Boy asked, a silly grin on his face.
“Sure, honey. What the Birthday boy wants, the Birthday Boy gets,” Sable said with a smile as she turned to grab a bottle off the back bar amidst the hoots and hollers his friends let loose.
She slapped a shot glass on the bar, and filled it with Cinnamon Schnapps and Baileys before sliding it across the bar to him with a wink.
“Here’s a sweet Cinnamon Kiss from me to you.”
The group laughed and slapped him on the back as he saluted her with the shot before tossing it back. The ribald comments and laughter made it clear the pub was full of playful men tonight.
Her grin widened. The night was bound to be a challenge, and all she could think was, bring it on!

This is reality. Last night actually.

It was 2 minutes to 12 when the pub door swung open and in walked 5 guys. Ugh! The place was empty, and had been for the last half hour so I’d been thinking, last call at 12, out of there right away. I wanted to get home early to wacth the season finale of CSI, which I’d taped.

Now, if these guys were hot, I might’ve gotten excited about it. But they were not. All of them ranging from early 40’s -early 50’s. Not my type at all. So I grabbed menus and as I headed over to their table the door swung opne again, and in walked 4 more. They joined their friends, ordered a couple of jugs of beer, and some munchies. They were in good spirits so I joked around a bit, noticing that ONE Of the guys was maybe in his 30’s and actually quite sexy.

“It’s his birthday.” I hear somene behind me say. I turn hopefully. Just my luck. NOT the cute guy, but an older wrinkled looking one.

“Really?” I say, smiling politely. “What can I get you, a drink, a shooter, a piece of cake?”

“How about a kiss?” He asks, smiling lecherously.

“Sure,” I laugh. “My fist and your lips?”

“No, that’s ok.” He chuckles as the others give him a hard time.

I feel a body lean in behind me and a voice whisper in my ear. “You should’ve just brought one of the cooks out.”

Turning, I confirm that it was the sexy one whispering in my ear. If there was ever any doubt, not with the goosebumps dancing down my spine. I smile at him. “He didn’t say the kiss had to be from you, you should’ve brought one of the cooks out.”

A little flutter in my tummy, I glance at his grip on the pool cue. Yup. Married. Off I go back to the bar to pour more jugs of beer for them. Reminding myself that men aren’t that important int he scheme of things. Just serve them, msile, make some moey.

So, they’re bill was $248 and they tipped me less than 15%. Actually the tip was 12%.

Good thing I bet on Detroit in the basketball game last night or I might not have made much money at all. :D

Another Giveaway

Okay, Kev, decided the journal was more his speed than the girly shower gel, so I still have that to give away, and for a Unisex prize I have a cd with exclusive excerpts from ALL of my stories, as well as special unpublished erotica story, and a chance to win a Grand prize at the end of the year.

I’ll be giving these cd’s out randomly all year long, and only people with the cd can enter the draw for the grand Prize.

What is the Grand Prize? It’s not complete yet, but I know it will include a signed copy of every release I have this year, print as well as eBook, some chocolate, and a massage kit.

So if you want a chance to win the grand prize, then you want to win one of these teaser cd’s.

Today, I’m want two winners. The winners will recieve BOTH of the items, guys, you can throw the shower gel in the closet until christmas then give it to your Mom, girlfriend, sister for a stocking stuffer.

To enter the draw for today, just post in the comment section, the ONE thing you would want most if you were stranded on an uninhabited island somewhere. And a friend is not an acceptable answer. ;)

Me? The one thing I’d want. A big knife, so I can cut braches and sharpen sticks, and maybe whittle myself something interesting out of some hardwood. :P

Life

I admit it. I haven’t written anything new in over a week, maybe two. How bad is it that I actually lost count of when I last wrote something new?

My “career plan” is now officially put on hold. I’m sorry to say that means WILLING, the continuation of Katie and Joe’s story is now on hold. This was to be the novel that was the one I was finally going to submit to a NY publisher (I’ve never submitted anythign to one). But you know what? I’ve been thinking about it being “the big one” for so long, it’s not fun anymore. I couldn’t even wirte the partial (that’s three chapters for you non-writers). I stalled after the first 10 pages!!

And I just realized why.:o

I’m bored. I’m bored with my writing, I’m bored with work, I’m bored with my cat, with TV, with going to the gym.

What do you do when you need to change things up in your life? How often do you feel this need to shake things up? I’ve come to expect this restless itchy feet feeling in my life. I have no idea why, but it happens often. Normally I’d pack my backpack and go on a trip.

Travelling always makes me feel better and reminds me of what I love about life. But…this time…because I need an instant fix, and I have a week off in July, for now, I’m just going to re-read some of my Stephanie PLum novels, I’m going to go see Star Wars, and I’m going to keep working out. Hell, I may even go out on a man hunt…errr.. I mean go play pool!

Then I’m going to let my imagination go wild, and write a very FUN dirty story. One that might never even see the light of day! But it’ll be FUN….and dirty!!!

That always rejuvinates me. ;)

Normally . . .

I try to stay out of the whole erotica vs romance type of debates. I like to think my stories speak for themselves, and I don’t care to defend my style or choices against ignorance.

However, I feel the pressing need to post a link to Shannon’s blog and her response to a particularly nasty post by someone I’ve never heard of, and never care to hear from again.

Check it out. Shannon’s response if 100% spot on!

Winners!

Tina wins a free download of The Devil Inside in a one day exclusive contest that was for my Newsletter subscribers only, and Kev wins some shower gel and a temporary body tattoo from yesterdays Blog giveaway!

Kev, if Luscious Berry shower gel isn’t your thing, email me. I’ve got a pretty cool Journal you might like.

Now, aside from promotional stuff, is there anyone out there that has been watching The Contender?

On Sunday night I watched two men battle for a spot in the final fight at Caesar’s Palace in Vegas for a Million dollars. I have to say, I’m n ot one for reality shows, I get sucked in occasionally but this one, I’ve been following it all since day one, and these guys have HEART. They push through everything else that’s going on, and give each fight their all, and each week I find myself in the middle of my livingroom jumping up and down and cheering on my faves.

Today, at the gym, my trainer said he finally watched it, (at my recomendation) and enjoyed it. We got to talking about wanting things, and going after them. Motivation, and where we find it. As I struggled with the 120 LUNGES he made me do, I remembered one of my fave motivational saying.

“All glory comes from daring to begin.”

In a split second it hit me that that appplies to both of my main priorites right now. Weight loss, (I’ve lost 2 pounds!) and writing a new full-length novel.

So, when I was done with my workout, I headed home and went to work on my wip. After all, I don’t want THE DEVIL INSIDE to be my last release, just my latest.

I personally find reality tv a strange place to find motivation, but it worked for me this time. My question is . . . where do you find motivation when you know you need it?

SO much for. . .

writing yesterday.

I got distracted by the computer being posessed. However, Now, all should be well, and I have a new sidebar!! Since I had to play with it, I cleaned it up, and put all “my FAVE links around the web” on another page! Since I don’t know how to make little button links like all the fancy ones my site already has, you’ll find a link to the links page on the sidebar.

The home page is also now updated with the new cover of TDI so that when it goes on sale tomorrow evening it’ll be ready, and an excerpt. (One that you alrady read here.)

I think I need to surf the web a bit now and find a pic of a hottie. I’m not waiting until tomorrow, we deserve a hottie TODAY! :D
