Blurb

OK. I’m not so sure about this blurb thing. It’s hard to write one for a short story without giving it all away. And even though this short story is an erotica one, and there is some great sex scenes in it (cuz I love sex scenes ;) ). It’s the most emotional and loving story I’ve ever written.

So, because Jaye asked…and Diana seconded, here’s my first attempt at a blurb for it. What do you think? Would this make you want to buy it?

Meandros
After a car accident crushes professional dancer Tammi’s legs, she wants to give up on life. But Tom, and his steadfast love, won’t let her. When Tammi grows stronger, and is able to walk down the aisle and meet him at the alter, it feels like things are going to be “happily ever after’ for them. Until tragedy strikes once again, and Tammi struggles to find a way through it.

Success!!

Yay! Those of you that are regulars here on my blog know that it’s been my goal for a while to have something out there with only my name on the cover instead of as part of an anthology.

So here’s the first cover with only MY NAME on it!!!!

The erotic short story won’t be available until June (from Amber Quill Press) but I had to show y’all the cover! :hehe:

If you want a closer look, click {{popup Meandros.jpg tnMeandros 396×612}}Here.

In other news, I finished my first round of edits for GYPSY HEART, and am tweaking THE DEVIL INSIDE so I can submit it right away. And I have to admit, seeing that cover has made me very motivated to write another short story for Amber Quill as fast as I can. What can I say? I LIKE seeing my name on the cover of a book! I’ve worked hard for it, and I’m going to keep working hard for it..so I can have MORE!!! :hehe:

At this stage of my career plan I’m focusing on eBooks and stories so I can get my name out there, and hopefully build a loyal readership. Alot of todays top romance authors , and even some top mainstream ones, such as Kay Hoooper and Tami Hoag started out with small romance novels, and built a readership that follwed them as they, and their stories grew. I started out with porn, moved into erotica, (and learned a lot in that move) and am now getting into erotic romance. I’m just starting to get a hint of where I want to go next.

Erotic thrillers appeal to me, as do paranormals…and I’m starting to see this emerge in some of the ideas that are sprouting in my mind right now. One thing I know for sure…my stories will ALWAYS have hot sex scenes in them!! *g* I’m know there’s a lot of women out there that enjoy some hot sex with their stories, and I’m hoping that they’ll see my name, read my stories, and decide they LIKE ME!!

Plus, I love writing them! ;)

Magic and Dreams.

““Boxing plays an important role in the story, but this picture isn’t about boxing; it’s about human relationships,” Eastwood emphasizes. “And there are some things that go unspoken in the film. Just as it was with Mystic River, the audience has to participate somewhat in deciding where the story goes after the film ends.”
~ Clint Eastwood when talking about MILLION DOLLAR BABY.

This is more than a great movie, it’s a great STORY. It starts out like you’d expect any ‘underdog’ movie to, and ends as only a poignant masterpiece can.

Reviewer Michael Wilmington (of the Chicago Tribune) says MILLION DOLLAR BABY “”is a tough, pungent boxing drama with a delayed-action wallop.” He goes on to warn you…”MILLION DOLLAR BABY is a boxing drama without last-minute triumphs or wish fulfillment scenarios, a love story without sex or romance. The movie doesn’t lack redemption, but it’s not the easy kind offered by Sylvester Stallone in “Rocky” or the social uplift of Rod Serling in “Requiem for a Heavyweight.” The ending here smacks of blood and sweat - and tears too.”

I say GO SEE IT!!

Smut
You’re a Smut writer!

What kind of writer are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

In other news Liquid Silver Books is having a Writing Contest. It looks pretty damn good to me, I wanted to get in on THE ZODIAC SERIES, but I was too late joining LSB, and now as one of their authors I can’t enter the contest. :( But I still think it’s a great opportunity, adn LSB is a great house to join, so GO FOR IT!

And, it looks like there will be no magic pill for women.

Happy Sunday. :)

Weakness

This weekend is going to be all about rewriting. Not just TDI (the novella I just had the ephinany with) but for GYPSY HEART as well. I just received the revisions letter back from the editor, and suprisingly . . . not a lot to do on it. Remove a few scenes, tie up a few loose ends. The biggest problem seems to be … c’mon what do y’all think?? My GRAMMAR!! Ugh! I swear, I’m never gonna learn this stuff. I thought I was doing so much better. I study workbooks, and really pay attention to what my cp’s pick up on . . . yet. I’m still gettiing comments about how sucky my grammar is.

Then again, I have to remember that while I did go over GH again before submitting it, that it was originally written almost 2 years ago. I know my grammar has improved since then.

What about you? What’s the weakest link in your writing? Is it a technical one (Like grammar) or is it a craft one (like lack of character development) or a creative one? (like the inability to “see” the whole picture)

And Steph. Lack of plotting ability is NOT a weakness, it just means we’re quick thinkers that can adapt to growing story elements easily.:D

Calling All Angel Fans!

There’s a discussion started at the House of SiN about Angel and Buffy.

And so far the majority is Buffy fans. Being the loyal ANGEL fan I am, I want more of us there!! SO come and join the party! :hehe:

Second Thoughts.

Well, I finally finsihed the WIP last week, and I let it ’set’ for a few days, and I’ve gone over all the grammar and little details, so it’s ready to submit. Why haven’t I sent it in then? It just seems to be missing something. Cece has read the whole thing, and she thinks I need to make the fight bigger, (which I did.) Sylvia’s rest most of it and she says it’s good. Steph gave it a final read over for me, and pointed out an area where my H should be more pissed off, and I can’t believe none of us caught it, because she’s so right!

Yet, I still feel something is missing. The characters are good, the sex is hot, (and pretty plentiful) the emotions are there…but it’s missing something. Then I had an epiphany at work tonite, after bouncing all this all off one of my friends. (She’s such a great listener!) I came up with a great way to give it some ACTION. A Middle to the story. Just what I think is missing. The thing that can make this good story into a GREAT story. But I have to rewrite at least 50 pages. :(

Keep in mind this is only 110 page novella, so 50 pages is almost half!! I know I can sell it the way it is. It IS good. But it could be so much better. But it means putting off WILLING even longer. Grrrr… What should I do?

I know, I know. Suck it up. Tell the GREAT story. After all, you never know who might read it and decide they want to offer me a multi-book contract with a 5 figure advance. :hehe:

Interesting…

Some interesting trivia facts:

In Dallas, Texas, it is illegal to possess realistic dildos.
Key word being realistic. ;)

Impotence is grounds for divorce in twenty-four states in the US.
Totally Valid :doze:

In Arizona you may not have more than 2 dildos in one house.
Is a Bullet considered a dildo?

Sex is a safe sport…It stretches & tones up just about every muscle in the body.
And when done right, there’s no loser!:hehe:

The penalty for masturbation in Indonesia is decapitation.
Thank God I’m Canadian! :P
