This writing gig can be hard. But for me, the hardest part is the waiting. The waiting to see if a request is made from a Query and Synopsis for a partial, then for a full, then you have to wait even longer to see if they like the full! If they (the publishers) don’t like it…then you’re back to step one with another publisher. If they do like it, you have to wait for contracts, and editing…not that this is bad. After all, you sold, so don’t bitch and complain!! :P
Me? ![]()
I’m an impaitent person if there ever was one. But you know what? Once I read Suzanne’s article Patience is for Sissies, it’s worked to my advantage.
Right now, I’m waiting to find out when Gypsy Heart will be released, and if LSB will accept The Devil Inside. I also have a few erotic short stories out there that I’m waiting to hear about acceptance/rejection on.
But I can’t sit around and be patient…so I’m starting another new project. One that’s been waiting for a while. In fact, it’s been waiting so long I’m not real excited about starting it anymore. But, I have a PLAN, (helped out by articles on both Suzanne’s and Stephanie Bond’s websites.)…and I believe in my plan…so I’m getting started on that project today. And I just know that I’ll get excited about it once I start!
Oh! The project? WILLING. Yes, I am finally clear of the other projects I started, and needed to finish in order to get started on this one. This is going to be my second full novel. And it’s going to be an erotica one. No shyness, no taming of the lust…but a full-on, no-holds-barred, down and dirty dip into the mind of one girl learning the truth about herself, and the depths of her own desires.
Oh, just writing that has made me excited to get into this again…Gotta go write!

Hey good luck writing. Obviously I’m stalling from doing my own writing …
by Jill February 22nd, 2005 at 8:34 pmThe waiting is a killer. A real self-doubt enhancer. I always assume no news is bad news - like the editors are passing around my manuscript(s) and chuckling at how ridiculous I am in thinking I have a shot. In those moments I think - just let me hear SOMETHING even if it’s a no. Then I remember Emma’s post about saying the same thing until she got a rejection. Bottom line: the wait is a killer but it means you’re working and there is something out there for consideration - that’s very cool. Good luck!
by HelenKay February 22nd, 2005 at 9:05 pm:D If you click on the Coming soon at LSB Gypsy Heart is there…and I read somewhere it will be out by April. At least with an electronic entry you don’t need to wonder if it got lost in the mail.

by Sasha February 22nd, 2005 at 9:47 pmI’m the queen of impatience, LOL. But it’s true, having more stuff out there, keeping working, is the only thing that tames the beast!
