Wooo WHoooo!

Look at me!

marquis
You are the Marquis Da Sade. Even stripped of
exaggerations, Your real life was as dramatic
and as tragic as a cautionary tale. Born to an
ancient and noble house, you were married
(against your wishes) to a middle-class heiress
for money, caused scandals with prostitutes and
with your sister-in-law, thus enraging your
mother-in-law, who had you imprisoned under a
lettre de cachet for 14 years until the
Revolution freed you. Amphibian, protean,
charming, you became a Revolutionary,
miraculously escaping the guillotine during the
Terror, only to be arrested later for
publishing your EROTIC NOVELS. You spent your
final 12 years in the insane asylum at
Charenton, where you caused another scandal by
directing plays using inmates and professional
actors. You died there in 1814, virtually in
the arms of your teenage mistress.
You are a revolutionary deviant. I applaud you.

Which Imfamous criminal are you?

2 Confirmed Sales!

I sold another short story to Black Lace! :D

I know I mentioned working on one lately, but the one I’ve been working on isn’t the one I sold. The one I’ve been working on is MEANDROS, a short story I’ll be submitting for their SEX ON HOLIDAY anthology.

The one I sold is SHIFT CHANGE, and will be in their next anthology, SEX IN THE OFFICE. SHIFT CHANGE is also the short story that I’ve wanted to continue into a novel. A novel that my editor at Black Lace has said she would ‘definitely consider’. That’s the novel that I was planning on working on for the November Write or Die Challenge. The same novel that is pushed back a bit so I can polish Gypsy Heart for my ePublisher requests.

I also got a pleasant surprise this morning when I checked my mailbox. A contract for a submission I sent out to Penthouse Variations a while ago! Yes, I write pornographic stories as well as erotic stories. This is why I can confidently say there is a difference between them.

I can also honestly say that I enjoy doing both. Sometimes writing a good, raunchy, old-fashioned dirty story is just plain FUN!

It feels so unbelievably good to have a bit of a plan laid out. A plan that is more than just in my mind, but has a bit of action (requests and editor interest) in it too.

Getting mY butt Kicked…

In a good Way! :D

Last week was great. I got to meet Sylvia for the first time, go to Disneyland, do some writing, do some drinking and eat alot of junk food.

Ok. . . so I’m still feeling the effects of eating to much junk food but the rest was pretty damn good!
I’m not sure how far I am in my page counts for the WORD Challenge, but I’m in the middle of the final scene on my Black Lace short story. Then I’m going to take another look at GYPSY HEART and polish it up because not only have I received a request for the the full from Liquid Silver, but also from Elloras Cave!!

YAY!!! I’m so happy they are interested in my novel. I know a request isn’t a sale….but it’s one more step towards one!

In other news, the READER”S CHOICE portion of Lori Foster’s Brava Novella contest is now on. I didn’t do so well in this contest myself but my friend and cp Sylvia did. Her entry Stolen Pleasures is one of my absolute favorite stories. And that’s saying alot about her writing since I’m not a historical fan.
If you take the time to read the entries I know you’ll agree with me. What’s not to like about a pirate that steals a beautiful woman only to find out she’s actually his wife and — Ooops, I guess I better not give it all away!

Go check it out yourself! There are a few other great entries I recommend reading as well. Larissa, HelenKay and Ellen all finaled as well. Be sure to VOTE while your there!

Friday

I have one more day here in California and tomorrow I’ll be spending all day in and out of various airports. However, Sylvia’s theory that things always happen when she’s out of town seems to be working for me too as I recieved a request for the full of GYPSY HEART from Liquid Silver yesterday! So, my erotic novel is pushed back once again so I can polish that up and send it in as soon asap.

I only have 7 pages left to finish my short story though and I plan to do that today!

Wednesday: We’re Alive

Sorry to have left without leaving a message for you all, but I went on a writers retreat in Buena Park, California with Sylvia Day! Three days locked in a hotel room with another writer. It was sorta strange. We didn’t get as much actual writing done as we thought we would. In fact, there were certain points of time when it seemed that the universe just did NOT want us to write.

Despite the family emergencies, an email crash, upset stomachs, headches and one laptop going up in flames, ( ok, there were no actual Flames,,,,but there was lots of stinky smoke coming from it just before it died.) , I feel alot was still acomplished.

I’ve never had the chance to sit and chat with another writer, to brainstorm freely (while the alcohol also flowed freely ) and to bitch, complain, commiserate , and plan our writing paths.

I’m still pages behind on my WORD Challenge goal, but I’m also in a much better state of mind to push forward with the plans set out for some more short stories and novels.

All in all a successful retreat, that has not ended, only changed locations from a hotel, to Sylvia’s house.

Pistures will be posted when I get home so keep an eye out!!

Gearing Up!

It’s a day when I’m not sure I’m going to get any writing done. I cleaned house and played with kitty.
If I could do laundry I’d be happy, but I can’t get a hold of the building manager to get some tokens. Won’t that be nice if I end up with a bag full of dirty clothes for my week in California? :O

Work was pretty good last night. We had a surprise visit from our Quality Assurance officer from Head Office. Despite the fact that this woman is there to grade us, and she can be [pretty hard at it sometimes. I like her. It’s nice to see her and chat with her again. I figured out why last night. It’s her smile. You know, the power of a smile is amazing! :D

Anyway, with the upcoming trip in mind, I read my horoscope today.

“A commitment you made has finally worked to your advantage. You will come into contact with an authority figure. This man or woman has the ability to make your dreams come true. Your trust is the final component of the winning recipe. “

Hmmmm, the possibilities! :P

Tidbits

{{popup meow.jpg meow 573×360}}THIS is a pic of our winning pumpkin carving from Saturday nights halloween party if anyone is interested. I love it! I think we did a damn good job! ;)

Last nite I met Dianna, who was in town visiting her daughter, for the first time. Such a sweet woman! I do enjoy meeting people I know from the internet for the first time. Speaking of . . . I’ll be heading down to California for the first time in my life on Saturday. While there I’ll be part of a three day writing retreat in Palm Springs, and I’ll be making a stop at DISNEYLAND!! :hehe:

Who am I doing all of this with? Well, that would be my cp Sylvia! We’ll be meeting in person for the first time, and I know we’re going to have a blast!

I managed, just barely, to get my 5 new pages done before going to work last night, and today I want to go back and change one of them. But the whole point of this challenge is to create NEW pages so I’m going to try to move on,with the last page just highlighted and some notes on how I want to change it.

Today’s a short short day for me, I work an hour earlier so this is it for my blogging time, it’s off to write!!

Oh, but I have question. My laptop is dieing and I can’t decide if I should get an alphie, or a new laptop. I know the alphie is lower cost, (which I like) but I can do things on my laptop that I can’t on my desktop (like website updates) Any idea’s or suggestions?

Bed Time

And not only did I get my five pages done…I did the final edit on the proof of SHIFT CHANGE for The next Black Lace anthology. It should be out in the spring, I think.

I’m pretty zonked, going to bed now. Oh! I also managed to go to the gym today. I’m back in the get in shape mode…sorta. By that I mean I’m working out again…but my eating habits still suck. :doze:

Tomorrow’s another day!

I did it!!

I did it!! I finally Finalled in a contest!!

Thanks to Sylvia for emailing me this morning because I was sorta scared to look myself. It’s the final week of Tawny Taylor’s Some Like It Hot contest and I just made it in. You can check out my entry here, and in case you weren’t aware of Sylvia’s entry, she finalled in week 2 and you can check out her entry here.

Sylvia’s also running an informal writing challenge for the month of November. The Write or Die Challenge. So you’ll see at the top of each entry I’ll be posting my pages done. My challenge….150 new pages this month! That’s minimum 5 new pages from scratcha day. Every day.

This is a challenge for me as I’m normally pretty sporadic; 1 page one day, 3 another, 5 on a good day.
But…I am determined to win one of those cute buttons Sylvia had designed for us! Even if it kills me. :P
