I wasn’t panicking yesterday because I though only three, or four, of my files were corrupted. A coupl eof crits, and a two short stories. (I’ve recovered most of what I’d lost through copies that cp’s still had on their computers.)
Turns out MORE are getting corrupted! The bad thing is, it’s not only happening on my HD, but on the usb Jump Drive I use to back them up! Last night I went to work on the novel I’m editing right now…and I couldn’t get into the files! Not the ones on the hard drive, nor the ones on the jump drive. 
I was almost in tears, but thank God, even though I hadn’t saved them to disk yet, I’d emailed copies to myself! Now I have them emailed and saved to disk!! Double back up, and I do believe I will never forget to back things up again! :satisfied:

Do you have a virus? They do exist for Macs!
It does sound a bit like a virus. Fingers crossed it’s not. You may want to do a scan.
A virus was my first thought too! Scared me straight to the computer store!! :P
