I'd check out an ebook of yours! Have you decided who to send it to yet?

Four months for Ellora's? I don't feel so bad now. Mine's been there only 2 months, so there's hope yet!

Good luck with your submissions. I would choose EC, if I were you, despite the long wait. They're a bigger and more established house.

Isn't the point to get your books out there? And when I say out there I mean in Canada too!! It is a shame that two of your best stories are in a book that we can not buy in CANADA. For those of you who have not read "the Mirror" or "The Gym" you are missing out!! BIG TIME!! I think that the object for your writing is to be published. The more times the better. I hope they both choose to publish you but if only one does, its a start right?!

Well, I flipped a coin! And three out of three times it says go for Liqued Silver. :P

I'm still subbing to EC though as neither website states no simultaneous submissions...and hope for the best. I do think I would prefer to sell to EC. Submision will go out on Monday!

Hi Dani!! I was really bummed about D &D not being available in Canada..I think that's something they should tell you when they buy your story, especially if your a CANADIAN author! LOL I still would've sold..but I would've purchased some copies directly from them if I'd known.

Well you probably already know what I'm going to say. I would go with EC. The money is good and if you're published in novel-length, which I believe is 40K and up, you'll be considered published by RWA. With any publisher, read the contract carefully. It's a shame that response and release times have stretched so long at EC. It was starting to do that when I was trying to get a book out every other month last year. I recently gave up my release spot, because the book isn't done. I can't imagine how long it'll be before I can get another one. Of course, I have to finish the book first.LOL!

Oh, there are other publishers out there, depending on the length of your book. Loose-id is accepting submissions and so is Changeling.

I obviously am happy to buy ebooks :D. My advice, though, is to submit to the best-known and most established e-pub you can find. In this case that'd be EC. Yes, they are backed up on submissions right now, but they are producing lots of paperbacks, their books sell well, and they've gotten national distribution in major chain stores. All very good things for an author!

I'll put in a plug for my own publisher, NCP, too. They publish quite a lot of erotic romance, which almost always includes their best sellers. I don't write erotic romance, which helps explains why my sales suck . But I'd talk to authors from any publisher before I submitted, too... find out what other authors think about the way they do business!
